This is a true story from a friend of Hardy's, he did his time they got married and have four children. He was set free by what he did that night probably from what he witnessed as a child happened to his mother and couldn't do anything about it was as much about releasing his pain as it was hers
Wow, I think that I may have had it wrong. I thought they had a previous relationship and she had come back for some comfort from someone she felt was a friend while he was still in love with her knowing she wasn't going to stay.
WHAT IS UP WITH YOU!!!! She didn't take his truck she is still waiting in the truck for him. He was her savior. You missed it all together. All of you men who have something negative to say or try and, impose some psychosocial response just sounds stupid !!!! You're not a woman and you have never been beat on by a man before! You don't have a dog in this hunt!! I don't like violence and I wish he saw some rehabilitation in this piece of crap, but he took care of business and he knew what price he might have to pay. Don't add your two cents to justify anything! You are not qualified to speak on this. It would be better if you had just said WOW this is deep and women are faced with this situation all the time. If someone legal had intervened on her behalf lives might be different. ou have no idea how many women listeners you just lost!!!! BYE.
Austin, I watch this over and over not just because of the song( which I can't get through😢) but because of your pure humanity and love for ppl and pets. Watching a grown man truly allow himself to break infront of thousands hits me SMACK in the feels
I listened to this songs for months without even looking at the lyrics. I just recently dove into in to the lyrics and I never realized how devastating this song actually was.
This song is based on a true story of a friend of Hardy’s who did 20 years and she waited for him to get out….. The guy grew up in an abusive home where I think the man eventually killed the mom. I have to assume he saw his mom standing in that road that night and saw the man in that trailer I get it
I've never had a single song singlehandedly change my perception of an artist quite like this one. The first two songs I heard were the Sellout and Rockstar ones through radio and I hated it because it's the two things I hate about both genres, hickhop and buttrock. Knowing he's got more of a satirical side made me do a complete 180 on him xD
This album got me back into country music. He did do some shows with Nickelback, just letting you know. I am NOT a Nickelback fan, but, their collaboration was pretty good
While I think your interpretation of 'poisoned myself again' as accurate, it's a Lil more to it. I see it as also relating to substance abuse. Perhaps that was a factor in the breakup, but its also a bad coping mechanism hes using in dealing with the breakup
Where the courts cant help her. Rural Appalachian mountains. Where rule of thumb still rules. U can beat ur wife and kids as long as a stick is not wider than their thumb. I UNDERSTAND
Chase did an interview about the song. He said a friend of his was about to kill himself and as he picked the gun up, his dog went over an laid his head on his lap and stopped him. The lil boy is also named Danny, and Chase's father's name is Daniel, so it made the video that much more emotional (to me anyway lol). The video has won various awards, including from Cannes.
