Service Design Network - Dallas Chapter is an official chapter of the Global Service Design Network (www.service-design-network.org/)
We are seeking to help create new connections and build awareness of this evolving new exciting discipline: Service Design.
So, what the heck is Service Design you ask?
“Service Design choreographs processes, technologies, and interactions within complex systems in order to co-create value for relevant stakeholders” - Brigit Mager (Professor of Service Design, KISD & Service Design Network President)
We want to meet you, whether you're a designer, developer, product manager, business analyst, organizational leader, or if you just simply want to know more about Service Design! …the more diverse skillsets, the better!
Our vision is to create a growing group of Service Designers in the Dallas community to connect, collaborate, and co-create. We're looking forward to meeting you!
I want to extend my gratitude to the Dallas Chapter and Leighton for sharing this incredible video. It was such a pleasure to come across this as I’m currently preparing an important presentation on the use of AI in service design. This video is by far the best I’ve seen on the topic and has sparked new ideas on how to showcase AI as a tool to enhance our creative potential. Thank you for the valuable insights!
I just love the logic Jared stated through the conversation! It’s just so simple and obvious and straight forward! And it so helps to stop trying to tag myself as a service designer and move to understand that it’s not the tag, but the skills and experience!
Interestingly in German Facilitation means several different Words.
9:20 beginning of presentation>> 12:40 the more signs in an airport, the more missed flights 14:15 the real reason vs the apparent reasoning ; audio acuity ... great solutions for the wrong problem 16:00 Global Jam 17:00 personal background - "the fool as a role within the power structure"
Thanks for sharing such valuable knowledge! I really appreciate the time both the Service Design Network Dallas Chapter and the speakers have devoted to share their knowledge. Those involved in Service Design will definitely benefit from your experience. I think, for further conferences, however, it would be more appropriate to send the big questions in advance to the speakers so that they can prepare well enough. For example, the question about making services ethical clearly killed the speakers. Bearing in mind that the whole idea is to share the experts’´ viewpoints, I think nobody will complain against my suggestion. Of course, I am not saying you should share all of your questions with them -surprise is still needed, but the big ones (the questions you show on the screen). Thank you Birgit, Jamin, Gabriela and Greg.
Thank you for your comment Tutelas. There is definitely a hit/miss ratio when doing these kinds of spontaneous, ad-lib discussions. I want to assure you though that the questions on the slides are all shared with participants in advance of the meeting. Sometimes, regardless of a lifetime of experience and preparation, in the heat of the moment, we find ourselves at a loss for words. But that's one of the joys of live, unscripted moments like this. Maybe that question is too deep for a quick retort. Maybe that question needs its own hour, or an entire conference. Not everyone will get everything everytime. And that's okay.
Hi, Excellent discussion. Thanks SDN Dallas for having such great guests and you yourselves are great. it would be nice to post here the links mentioned during the meeting for those who watch the video later. I believe these are the ones. www.servicedesignjobs.com and not sure if the other link is this one www.servicedesignjobs.com/getting-hired/
Watched it. Very interesting. I feel identified with some things you talked about. In my particular case, I first started working and later on, decided to study to have the necessary background and tools to do what I wanted to do: Fix people problems, change things, make them better, or different. Thank you very much!!
Great conversation. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I didn't watch the event live so I cannot see what link Brandon posted in the chat towards the end of the talk, but I´m guessing it´s this one medium.com/@stephenanderson/specific-things-ive-learned-running-a-few-remote-workshops-b68305e00d1e
Disappointing that such an inspiring and engaging session has so little visibility on RU-vid. The stuff discussed here, especially the QnA is pure gold for anyone wanting to learn more about Service Design. and trying to implement it in their organization. Brilliant stuff indeed. I was preparing notes based on this session and I ended up writing 8 pages of important stuff related to service design. I hope I can translate what I learned into real practice.
Hey Riaz. Thanks for your comment! We appreciate your desire for more people to discover the great value here. Just note that we had this meeting yesterday, and just posted the video this morning. So with 47 views, 5 likes, I'd say it's off to a good start! We'd appreciate your support in sharing it and getting the word out too! Expect much more content to following the coming months!
