@@vmkkith I'm not missing anything. (I saw Associates way back in the day) Dedicate a song, spill out your love in a lengthy statement if need be but don't cover an Associate's song, nobody sang like Billy. This is embarrassing. Album of covers by H17 is a crime against music too!
Jesus Christ that's just hit me like a truck. Powerful! No better artist to pay that tribute than Glenn. I cannot WAIT for Belfast in February but I doubt they'll do this. Still. It's beautiful. Rest Well Billy Mc 🙏🙏
@@vmkkith definitely, Glenn put everything into that and almost couldn't go on at one stage. Powerful performance fitting of a once powerful singer that was Billy 🙏
Sadly, I have to admit to finding this version of Party Fears Two somewhat soporific 😾, despite being a huge appreciator of Glenn's work with Heaven 17/B.E.F. Back in '82 (the best year *ever* for music, outdoing even the '60s for the sheer evolutionary explosion of innovation), the original made such a (ahem) splash (Sunie Fletcher, I believe, of Record mirror wrote "This pisses on every other release from a very great height"). That great height gave the song such energy! I find this more akin to post-micturition dribble. *So sorry* Glenn! (I guess we all get old, but in different ways...) Here in Scotland, record shops were selling Party Fears Two at cost or at a loss as a way to get it up the charts as it so deserved! Billy is just incomparable. 😿
This is why I so loved growing up as a teen in the 80's.. We have here a great band paying tribute to a fellow artist from the same decade, in a style that artists these days wouldn't have a fucking clue how to achieve.. I hate modern music it's just shit, there are no bands anymore..
Just amazing , the lads from Glasgow and Sheffield loved each other. The greatest, honest mental health song ever. He left this earth with his beloved dogs by his side, no one else.
You made me cry, this song is so powerful, always loved and appreciated it William. Total respect to H17, they were all around at the same time. Glaswegians understand true class and are the greatest people on the planet. NB. ‘Wee cranky’ is a nasty piece of work.
Everyone in the comments absolutely missing the point of this sketch. If you’re having a serious discussion of “political correctness”, your certainly misunderstood the joke.
