I own the Recover version. I purchased the Fit version recently. The Recover works flawlessly. The Fit does not. On exhale 2, it sounds like a kazoo. On inhale 1, it is hard, on inhale 2 it is very easy and you can hear flapping when you inhale. Their tech support is too busy to take any calls, emails are days slow. I have asked for a replacement, but they tell me I am using it wrong. When you exhale, it comes out of the inhale side. None of these problems exist on the Recover model. I will not buy or recommend this to anyone.
I apologize for the inconvenience, however we do not sell those versions of THE BREATHER. You can reach out to the manufacturer, PN Medical, at (877) 414-4449 and they can assist you. Thank you, The AliMed Team

To begin, complete ten reps (ten inhales and exhales) at the lowest setting (setting #1 on both the inhale and exhale dials). Repeat. Two sets of reps make up one session. You’ll know when you’re using the appropriate setting when moderate effort (60-70% of max effort) is required to complete two reps - you may notice heavy breathing or being limited to speaking one-two sentences immediately following the exercise. If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out to our customer service team and someone will be happy to assist you! Thank you, The AliMed Team
You should inhale deeply and forcefully for 2-3 seconds; slight pause (1 second); then exhale forcefully for 2-3 seconds with a moderate (60-70%) effort. Thank you, The AliMed Team

Inhalation and active exhalation utilize distinct muscles and muscle groups. Inspiratory and expiratory muscle groups respond differently to training, with different maximum capacities (which are reflected by the differences between MIP (maximum inspiratory pressure) and MEP (maximum expiratory pressure). The distinct intensity settings on the Breather for inhale and exhale were adapted for optimal training of both muscle groups. Respiratory muscle training (RMT) promotes diaphragmatic breathing. This is done by contracting the diaphragm, a muscle located horizontally between the thoracic cavity and the abdominal cavity. RMT improves exercise-limiting shortness of breath and delays time to fatigue in healthy people and athletes. RMT enhances performance by improving respiratory muscle endurance, maximal sustainable ventilatory capacity (MSVC), and maximal voluntary ventilation (MVV). If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out to our customer service team and someone will be happy to assist you! Thank you, The AliMed Team
How fast is the inhale? And how fast is the exhale? I tend to breath very very slowly but it feels strange with the breather. Maybe I breath too fully? I guess I don't have to breath all the air in that is possible. Would it be better to do short inahles wonly breathing to 50% capacity?

Respiratory Muscle Training is a safe, highly adherable lifestyle intervention for improving blood pressure and endothelial function in midlife/older adults with above‐normal initial systolic blood pressure. The manufacturer completed a study in 2021 that confirmed there had been reduced blood pressure by 2% and improved circulation (artery diameter) but 45% after 6 weeks of regular RMT in post-menopausal women. Using the Breather promotes diaphragmatic breathing and strengthens all respiratory muscles. Breathing through the mouth is more effective during these exercises, however strengthening the diaphragm by using the Breather will make breathing through the nose more effective. Would this help with vocal cord polyps issue and losing my voice? I was told I need to learn how to breathe properly and not exert my voice as I exhale?
The Breather will not directly impact vocal cord polyps, however it will help with increasing respiratory muscle strength impacting breath support and coordination for speech production and phrasing. THE BREATHER should be regularly cleaned with warm soapy water to prevent build-up of saliva during training. After cleaning with soapy water, rinse your Breather well, shake off excess water and air dry on a clean paper towel. If it is completely dry, it can be stored in a plastic bag. We have a video on how to properly clean THE BREATHER here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PE6ew5rRfwc.html If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out to our customer service team and someone will be happy to assist you! i have just bought one of these and i dont get much sound at all breathing in and just my breath sound breathing out. Sounds nothing like the video so wondering if its broken.
To ensure that there is no saliva or debris stuck inside THE BREATHER, clean with warm, soapy water, rinse off well, shake off excess water, and air dry on a clean paper towel. If this does not fix the problem, ensure that the silicone diaphragm is engaged. To do this, exert a moderate level (60%-70% of max effort) of effort on both inhale and exhale. You should hear strong wind sounds and feel the resistance when breathing in and out through the device. Hello, Thank you for sharing your observations. We understand your concern and appreciate your feedback. The product is designed to assist patients across the mobility impairment spectrum, from slightly impaired to dependent. The video depicts how a slightly impaired patient might use the product with caregivers assistance, however it is safe to use with patients who require additional assistance as well. Yes- note that inhale and exhale settings should always be determined independently of each other, as the muscle groups for inhaling and exhaling gain strength at different speeds. Here are some links that may help you determine what settings to use and find a training plan that works for you: HOW TO CHOOSE A TRAINING PLAN - The Breather - PN Medical (www.pnmedical.com/lessons/choose-training-plan-the-breather/?wvideo=hjmpa005uc) IN THE ZONE effort - PN Medical (www.pnmedical.com/lessons/in-the-zone-effort/?wvideo=7cv53o9e9l) Thank you, The AliMed Team
While using THE BREATHER for Respiratory Muscle Training (RMT), you should breathe in and breathe out through the mouthpiece. It is important that you do not breathe through the nose during training, as breathing through the mouth allows for easier airflow and more effective muscle strengthening. We don't advise stopping nose breathing altogether-in fact, strengthening the diaphragm and respiratory muscles using THE BREATHER enhances the effectiveness of nose breathing. Please watch PN Medical’s video here on how to properly use the device. www.pnmedical.com/breather/?wvideo=z4xdhzra66 You can also watch PN Medical’s video below for more information. support.pnmedical.com/portal/en/kb/articles/isn-t-nasal-breathing-preferred-30-9-2022?wvideo=0hwh3b554c Thank you, The AliMed Team
Many people with chronic bronchitis or Bronchiectasis use THE BREATHER to strengthen their respiratory muscles, which helps clear mucus more effectively through improved coughing. Exhaling against resistance also helps mobilize mucus in the airways, making them easier to clear. When training with THE BREATHER, patients report reduced medication and oxygen use for emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Pro tip for the breather folks: instead of all of these type videos and the ones in the dedicated app that spew a lot of unhelpful words, just make a video of someone doing the exercises, explaining as they go. Simple.

What are you trying to work on? Strengthening your inhalation or exhalation? If it is inhalation breath in through your mouth and breathe out through your nose. If it is exhalation, breath out through your mouth and inhale through your nose. Don't work on both at the same time. Do one exercise (sets and reps) in the morning, then do the other (sets and reps) at night.

If you have vascular disease beware ! Acute compartment syndrome is a post - op complication, that can cause you severe problems and could lead to DVT and Pulmonary Embolus which could cause death.
So what is the purpose of the 15 - 22mm adapter? In the booklet it says to breathe "in the zone of 5 - 7". The instruction literature and this video are really terrible.
