In 94 I was in a car accident that took my life. Now dealing with the damage from a closed head injury I get by on my own doing mechanical repairs, fixing things, and trying to get by on disability. These videos I make are just of my life working on vehicles, tractors, building what I can afford at my home, and my general basic daily living to help anyone out that might be struggling on how to do something or pick up tips from my own work.
Thank you for watching and may GOD bless you as he has me.
hi, sorry for the late reply but to much in life going on right now, which is why I have not continued adding videos. the manuals that I use I got from www.jensales.com and they are ' The Ferguson Shop Manual ' FE-2, ' Continental Service Manual Overhead Valve 4-Cylinder Engines ', and the main one I go to which is ' Ferguson Dealer Shop Manual ' covering TE-20, TO-20, and TO-30 Tractors. the last one I think is a reprint of the original back in the 50's but not sure. that one and the Continental Service Manual have the most information about overhaul although FE-2 has very clear recent pictures, detailed graphs and diagrams, and cut in half diagrams to show how that certain part works. good luck with yours and thanks for watching! I also got my parts from Jensales as well. their products are very high quality and after I checked from other companies selling tractor parts they were the cheapest, even cheaper than Amazon on some things...but I stick mainly with actual tractor parts distributors and barely go to Amazon for parts I need to rely on to last.
Hi Anthony, I have a 51 TO30 and when I removed the sump nut that connects to the oil pump the rubber gasket was torn. Would you happen to know part number for that or what I need to replace it? I can't seem to find out anything about it online.
Which side did you install the seal on with the spring inside or outside the crank? I have been told various applications. I think the spring should be on the inside or facing to the front of the engine but some said put the spring side next to the flywheel.
hi, sorry for the wait but been rather busy here. if your talking about the rear main, spring always goes away from flywheel toward the crank. thats how rubber seal is set up cause if you dont want a leak you always have the rubber angled toward the side the oil is. same as a front main seal, if you angle the rubber and spring out away from the oil, your going to have problems. others might not see an immediate problem cause its a rubber seal of course, but in the long run there will be. I removed the original seal installed in 1952 and it was same, spring toward the crank and rubber angled in toward crank. dont always believe everything people say, yes they might have degrees or work at automotive places but always do your research on proper installation, and follow what the manual says cause they know what they are the original installers, they know what they are doing. going to add a pic of exactly what the original book says about installing the rear main seal. just replace where they say leather with rubber, as that is what they used back then.
Ferguson Dealer Shop Manual description on how to install Rear Main Seal...they used leather back then, so replace leather with rubber drive.google.com/file/d/1hmxYoNVtcITckvNNQr24W-3Iix8bdtI-/view?usp=share_link
have been trying to answer this question for the last hour, keep deleting my response cause each time I dont answer right. my cam had no bearings, and no play or room for bearings. if I put bearings in I would have had to grind down the block to accommodate for the spacing. I looked it up and they do sell cam bearing for the z129, but not sure if they made an engine block change at some point because on my block/cam there is no spacing at all for a bearing or markings that there should be bearings. the journals for the crank are solid holes, not split in half like the crank to fit them but even if I could they would have to be paper thin to fit and leave room for the cam to spin.
for mine it got repainted a couple times I think. checking the paint it looks like it was originally orange, but just making the color it is right now. occording to www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/001/0/8/1084-ferguson-to-30.html the serial number stamps produced in 51 were 60001, 52 72680, 53 108645, 54 125929, and no year given but ending at 140000. my tractor serial is 77335 and clearly marked Harry Ferguson, manufactured in Detroit Mich. so mine was probably produced in the early months of 52, but not sure. but at least the engine and transmission were originally orange, I could find no grey in that section.
right, after 50+ years it either had to be re-ground or honed or whatever they call it, or replaced. cost would have been about the same either way so just bought a new one from Jensales.com . they have good quality parts and are also cheaper than any other place I could find, and the page you order the crank from gives the correct bearing numbers to order so no confusion ordering separately. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YIFYkIyaJNc.html
I did the head on my to30.head was completely redone.put it all together fill it with antifreeze and had to leave for a few days.came back to antifreeze leaking into pushrod tubes.any issues with yours?
not with mine after I torqued it down right. no idea if this matters but on the head gasket to either side and kind of even with the coolant holes the two smaller holes on the outside are differently placed. if not put in right one of these holes is the water by-pass hole. the book says " NEVER install a gasket without taking special pains to see that this water opening is not sealed shut." I didnt see this but it also says to coat the gasket on both sides with a commercial sealing compound...I will have to do that this next time. also, if you have ever installed a head gasket on a vehicle, there are tighten sequences to follow, normally three. the book does not say to do this, just tighten to 70-75 foot pounds, but I did and posted on the video each torque setting while going in the correct tightening order each time. without looking at it thats the best I can help with, good luck
I am sorry, I went into depth to explain about everything else but forgot to explain that. as you know the crowfoot wrench will not work for torquing. took me a long time to find it but if you look on ebay or wherever " 11/16 torque wrench adapter ", that is what i had to use. especially for that first one with very confined space. try to stick with a 3/8 drive. not positive but I would think 1/2 might be a little to big.
@@briankimbrellsr5580 I know your supposed to change the torque and calculate what the correct torque would be if the adapter was straight out from the end of the wrench. however, if the adapter is in line or parallel with the torque head, the value is equal and does not need to be calculated. also putting an extension between the wrench and the adapter will not change the torque value. watch this video and it will help you understand: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lUBs_j27pOc.html also I have another correction in the video I will be making, as it is not 65flbs as a final head torque, but 70-75. I forgot that I did it in three sequences but must not have gotten pics of the third final sequence.
Just curious, in response to the "No Stars" ..... did you have a seriously overcast evening? Like, **lots** of clouds and such? Just trying to determine if the "no stars" was due to a mundane reason (an easy explanation), or something else.
yes, I meant to say that the sky was completely overcast where no you could see no stars but just a hazy silhouette of the moon. and yes they were probably Venus and Jupiter, but it was very odd that they were shinning bright as day with nothing else really in the sky. I walked out my house, looked across the field, and all I seen was two very bright lights in the sky. anyway, to me just very odd
Exactly! Few days ago noticed it. Tho they flow in different direction here. ? Anyways last nite watched awhile too cuz closer together than other nite plus much much brighter now
I live in Central Ohio and between the hrs of 5 and 6 am in the eastern sky between 35/40 degrees above the horizon i noticed a very bright light in the sky. Well after looking at it for a few moments it started to move in circles then rapidly change direction moving left to right then stop. Then it moved in a zig zag motion downward then back. I had my fiance look at it and she to witnessed what I did. 3 days later this past Sunday around 8 pm she was driving home and saw this again nearly in the same spot as it was the 1st time seeing it. How does something stay in nearly the same spot and move the same way without following the earths movements?
I have seen a few unexplainable things in the sky and one I can think of was a light like a star just moving across the sky, not blinking like a plane but just going across the sky, same light like a star, but all of a sudden it stopped momentarily and changed directions, like a crooked " L " or " V " (using letters are the only way I can think if explaining how it moved), then in less than a minute after changing direction it was gone. no idea, but NOT man made. thanks for the info and take care.
@@knightjester7947 i just noticed your in michigan...? you need to get out of there ... id recommend WITNESS DROP EVERYTHING AND HEAD WEST COAST IMMEDIATELY ... id recommend colorado ... but its your free will choice ... i cant sense a time frame on this yet but its lookin closer than ever in little over 3 years .... who can see this ...?
@@yourangelinfleshorsackclot1523 I am disabled, live on gov support, make basically 1k a month. I dont have the means or finances to be able to do that, and all my family is right here so whatever might come I will weather the storm of life. thank you for the concern though, but I worry more right now about those areas or cities made where dams keep them safe or if they break water will wash away the town. and whats happening in California is only the beginning, it will move east.
thats what my mother said but it did not make sense. all stars were blanketed behind clouds, moon just came through, no other stars I could see in the sky, yet these two lights were bright as day and did not fade in and out as stars or planets would as heavier clouds moved through the sky. what makes no sense is besides the moon, there was nothing in the sky and it was pitch black out. not saying your wrong, but not something I can explain given that where I live is outside any city so you can easily see the milky way, constellations, and anything out there. thanks for the info though, I will check on it
