Agree, more gear = more to worry & more to go wrong on live gigs. Audience doesn't know the difference . They just want to hear a good band with good music. We play straight into a Yamaha Stagepas600BT and that's it. The mixer on this unit has a nice reverb that we use and that's about it. Easy set up / tear down and having more fun playing & getting repeat gigs. Less is more . IMO🎸🎸🎸
Just bought one of these for £110 for practice and to mess around with. I've no desire to swap the tubes or speaker, but the tutorial is handy should I ever need to do it anyway. I have a couple of pedals I'll try using with it, see how it sounds. I'm a crap player though, and my ears aren't great, so I'll probably think it sounds awesome either way. 😁
Fantastic demo!! I bought one of these cool modules and wasn’t sure if I should keep it and was on the fence about it but now I’m definitely going to keep it. I want to have my guitar sound as good as you have in the video. Superb demo!!!
That nano big muff is really an excellent pedal. You could say the same for the bass big muff (not nano), used to compare them on guitar, they are also the same, the nano has a little bit more hights (good for guitar !) and the "normal" one has a switch to had more bass (not really usable on guitar). So I think they are both really good on guitar, with a (little) preference for the nano.
Killer... Muscular... Rich harmonics... Epic.... Rare to see, especially since Magnetic Effects folded up. Great pedals! Missed my chance to get a couple...
I'm going to also tell the drummer to use less Tom's and cymbals. He only really needs a snare, hi hat and bass drum. Bass players shouldn't use a Pic or anything more than 1 15" speaker and singers don't really need a mic if they learn to project. Ya know what ? Let's just bring a juke box.
They both sound great. I’m a big muff and super fuzz fan in general. But the current nyc pedal is very underrated. It’s arguably one of the best muff circuts of all time. They never made a bad one honestly but it has a lot more gain than say a rams head and a lot of low end when compared to an op amp or triangle. It’s really an amalgamation of all the muffs. And like the russian when the vol is cranked you get the low end but perhaps not as much. Tbh the best of the russians was either the early ones or the black ones. The green ones are amazing too but i thought the nyc was a better sounding pedal at time and the russian at others. The decision is rly down to how its setup. With the vol sustain and tone up id say tbe russian. But in every other application the nyc.
Whether a pedalboard is a nano, which I dig or a nano plus that holds up to 6 full size pedals, snark tuners still exist. A Tuner in a pedal takes up pedalboard space for an effect pedal. Space that could be used for a compressor pedal or an overdrive or delay pedal or modulation effect
You've got quite a bit of room reverb there, bud; what kind of mic did you use? BTW, I so wish YT still allowed commenters to post links. Because what you said about this whole 'buy and modify' thing is spot on.
you do fantastic pedal reviews! You get right down to the nitty gritty! I rescently bought both a used EHX Pitch Fork Plus ( Didnt come with the manual! HEEEELLP! its awesome though for what i have figured out you can do with it.. i still have little idea how to utelize it though.. lol) and a used pedal form version ( the form that had the actual stomp box and required an externa; expression pedal) version of the "Cockfight"... which i love but which isnt as good as I hoped it would be, I think perhaps i should get the actual all n 1 expression pedal verson... I actually LOVE the Fuzz sound it has and wish that it didnt HAVE to be used with the expression oedal Wah/Vocal Wah or Talk Box effect engaged... I love its Squacky cutting out when you manpulate the "Bias" control. I am wanting to get either the EHX Bass Synth ( the big expensive version) or the Bass Mono Synth... I have a Arturia ( a USED artuia.. when you cant register them there is a huge diff inusefullness) Keystep and a subscrioton to Universal Audio SPark which gives me a coupe synths including the Moog licensed Moog Mini plug in.. ( which is OUTSTANDING!) and another synth... but i need a better PC to truely use them and maybe a Apollo interface and a external DSP unit for thier CPU intensive plugins which are outstanding... i wish ide known this when i bought my UA 276 interface which i love.. but which has no internal DSP which i def need! Anyways sorry to ramble.. outstanding videos sir! I love the EHX Memory Boy Delux... mines f'ed up from the house fire it ...didnt really survive but managed to work somewhat afterwards... wish i could afford a new one.
I don't see how anyone needs more than 5 pedals. I can definitely see the benefit of no pedals when all of them have different volumes. When I look at monster pedal boards I get a headache looking at them. All the things that can wrong with them. I would still want one or two pedals.
I have the Fuzz Factory and Fuzzolo. The Fuzzolo is definitely way easier to get a quick and awesome sound. The FF is really awesome though. Not a fan of the high pitch screeches, but outside of those sounds, it's really great!
5:26 it states on screen Remember to use one finger per fret, your index finger should be above the 3rd fret. Shouldn't it say your index finger should be above the second fret?
I get the feeling that the idea of the video is to show that they're really not that different and paying the crazy prices for the green one is stupid.
This Univibe "style" (it's not made according to the exact vintage specs but WGAF) pedal sounds amazing in front of a Wampler Velvet Fuzz. Do does my Phase 45 & Danelectro Cool Cat Univibe (uses actual photocell and 'bulb)
Nope! don't get it. I can play the scales no problem, but the theory behind them or why they're located where they on the fretboard still a mystery. I think too many teachers ( because they know the material so well) assume students understand more than they do. Is a key assigned a specific pattern or can you play all patterns in all keys? Bottom E 5th fret is A, so can I play all five patterns from that start point and be in the key a A?
I'm torn, it's like they are almost two great pedals in different ways. The new muff is brighter but has a low undertone that is great. The green muff is flatter but less bright. Is like to see them both mached as best as possible to see the actual differences instead of their knob placement
Your right to say if you walk out of the shop you should nt be thinking about upgrading but I fit locking tuners to my guitars now just for sheer convenience. And may fit tusq nut at some point but no rush .
