Hello, I have a question regarding seed starting plug. I think these sponges are bound by a particular polymer. Does anyone know the name of this polymer used in production of the seed starting sponge plugs? I am open to any documents and information regarding the production of these sponge plugs as well. Thank you

Hi there Vermont Compost Company, in this video, is Coleman saying/showing that your lovely potting mix is sufficient on its own (without anything added) to make great soil blocks? I ask because I’m planning to use blocks this year for the first time and I’d love to avoid mixing Coleman’s block soil recipe is your mix is already perfect on its own for the job.

www.johnnyseeds.com/growers-library/tools-supplies/soil-block-maker-instructions.html By far, the best and most efficient technique I have come across to start, grow, and transplant seedlings. I highly recommend his book "The New Organic Grower" by Elliot Coleman. He goes into much more detail on soil blocking.

Heat doesn't neutralize the prions of BSE, because they are are not a virus and not bacteria. They learned it could be spread from brain surgery patient to patient via autoclaved instruments. Only wiping them all off would work.

There appear to be about "less than 100" good teachers of this technology....this man and his team have a massively good knowledge base and following now. We need more and more of this knowledge to be passed on....quickly.

Hi Eliot..quick question for you. You have a farm. Do you use this soil blocker to grow everything on your farm? It seems like an awful lot of work for the acreage you have? It sure looks like you use the block for a lot of things. Thanks for writing back...things going well out here in Utah using your winter/spring gardening/farming techniques...
