When I sang this song as George Michael part in karaoke - first of all, it always was a hit, especially if I had a good partner for Elton - but most of all, I had such a great feeling of energy, power, emotion... wow. The background story is this: I wasn't interested in singing until I bought two LP's in the soviet music shop and since then for some 3 years, fanatically I sang along to those George Michael songs wishing to get the same sound, the cut through listener's emotions, etc... maybe partially I get something because after singing at public Karaokes in the city, I attended to TV vocal competition auditions and get through and even to finals.
I believe Steve Earle is from Texas, and he's very underrated as a singer/songwriter. A good many of his songs are about life in the Appalachians. His style is kinda mix of rock, country, bluegrass, folk, and traditional. One of my favorite songs of his is called The Mercenary Song.
Tina began to play classical guitar at 8 and switched to electric guitar at 13. She made this video at 17 after working 2 months on the tune during her summer holidays. Right after this video, she stopped posting and disappeared. Many will say she worked hard and that's obvious... but hard working doesn't explain all : she is an absolute prodigy.
its okay to cry. Its a really hard song to get through. Its right up there with AIC's nutshell, nutshell, the offsprings original song, or some of the songs Ive listened to from cold. Even cold has a song called "Gone away, a song for starr" which is a reference to one of the band member's daughter passing. Staind had some badass songs that you want to curl up in a corner, down a bottle of jack and cry your heart out.
