It’s underrated, but also not promoted enough. If you look at early men’s nba, they had to invest a lot to make the sport a staple, like any other sport. Also, this was me in 2018/2019 with bouldering and lead climbing, sports climbing in general. I got obsessed, I watched all the recorded competitions I could. I cried during the olympics because one of my fav climbers got silver and retired lol. I was like I didn’t know these people existed until like a year or two before.

i’m gonna go on a small defense of Jeff, I love his character. I think he’s so silly and goofy and I love that he’s built up to be this like un attentive husband. It makes us think he doesn’t care about his family but in reality he’s just a dumb guy, trying to figure out how to balance his work and family life. but when it comes to Jeff reading the journals, yeah that could be seen as shitty but Shawna and Jeff had been married for over 20 years at this point and she just refused to talk about the wilderness, refused to talk about when she was a teen, or Jackie. she wouldn’t talk about any of it, and Jeff knew that that was causing a hole in the relationship so years ago he read the journals and he didn’t say anything to her. He just wanted to know and understand. plus then when it did come to a confrontation, he could be able to say “I still love you despite everything that you have done, you think it makes you unlovable but I don’t” and I really like that aspect of Jeff. I genuinely just think he is a well-meaning husband who is a little dumb sometimes.

The season 2 storyline for Spider was actually so good. He's not redeemed, but we understand why he is the way he is and we can see that there's actually a really sweet guy somewhere in there
So now I’ve watched more and I have thoughts…. Their relationship isn’t something to aspire to have but it reflects life. I’ve read the book and Dexter has always wanted Emma but did not feel good enough for her. He had a bond with her, and as a man in his twenties - he told her that he couldn’t be in a relationship with her. That was his truth. He believed she deserved to know that which she did. Emma could’ve walked away but she (really both of them) valued their friendship so much that they stayed connected. I don’t agree that Emma was just waiting for him. She pulled away from the connection when his treatment of her became so detrimental and toxic. She followed her dreams. She dated other men. Just as Dexter moved on too. She made a choice to be with him. If she would’ve stayed with Jean Pierre, Dexter would’ve still been there as her friend because their bond was that deep. They loved each other without ties to anything extra. That’s unconditional. Their relationship reflected to me how we can miss out on great experiences/love connections because we’re not emotionally mature, or we’re insecure or we’re not good at communicating…that reflects so much of our reality especially when we’re young. If Dexter and Emma decided to be together when they were younger, they wouldn’t have worked. Dexter was deeply troubled and insecure. The women that he was with during those times didn’t get the best of him. They got the worst of him. Emma was worthy of more than that. When they were together, she got the best of him - the healing, stable, and monogamous version. Also in reference to cheating, it’s not a good thing but I still love the reflection of reality because this stuff happens. These characters are deeply flawed and imperfect which translates into imperfect decisions. Their kiss at the wedding was never an intention between either of them but I can understand why it happened… You have two people who have an incredible deep bond with each other and they haven’t seen each other in years…and they’re finally being vulnerable and honest with each other about what they mean to one another. It’s almost like whatever they stored away came rushing back full force, and I see the kiss as a closing door to what could’ve been. Emma has not given in to any advances from him since the night they met, and she decides to kiss him when she knows that’s he is engaged with a baby on the way… To me, that shows the deep regret/sadness/love that she is allowing herself to give into this moment because she believes this won’t ever happen for them. For Dexter to reciprocate, I believe it’s the same emotions he’s experiencing as well. If Emma would’ve told him that she loves him or that she wanted to be with him, I think he would’ve ended things with Sylvie but she wants to be a supportive friend but also she’s grieving deeply because this is the only man she has had deep feelings for. It’s just a mess of emotions and they don’t know how to handle them, and it’s easier to say that they shouldn’t have done what they did but I think it’s actually more truthful to their connection. In the book, they kiss (eyes open) and they’re kind of shell shocked and don’t know why they’re doing this - Dexter even wants to continue to stay in the maze because he wants to discuss everything between them but chickens out and asks if they’re still friends instead…
loved everything you said! again, them being deeply flawed, i think, is what made me connect to this series. i think it's great and allows an opportunity for self reflection because, like you said, even though we don't like what we see... i think one of my fav elements in Bottoms is that PJ (and Josie and basically every single character) is allowed to have (major) flaws. like heck, PJ is not even that likable, and she's the main character of the movie and she's gay as fuck!! i love how Bottoms allows lgbt characters to have flaws, or even to be assholes, because that's the kind of characters who will create tension and therefore, interest in the plot. there is this trend in the last few years (or even the last decade), where representation takes up more and more space in US media (and it's a good thing), because people want more of it and it's just pretty normal!! but then, there is also this trend where rep characters (especially lgbt ones) have to be perfect and good guys and have perfect relationships, because damn we can't have a nuanced person being gay, that would be bad representation and the queers would be mad!! it's SO annoying, and sure it's nice to have a show like Heartstopper if that's what you're searching for, but lgbt characters can also be complicated and have character development (or not and stay assholes), and that's what makes for interesting storytelling. sometimes, it almost feels like lgbt characters are flat and boring, because writers don't want to make them act or think nuanced, complicated things (just take shows like Supergirl... or literally all of the CW - minus Lexa - and all queer characters are one dimensional). so yeah, i'm not a fan of PJ either, but i'm so damn happy she exists!!! anyway, thanks for the video, take care byyyyyyyyyyyyyyye

I think PJ is one of those people who tries to disguise their insecurities and pain with false confidence and coolness. I think she could be a much better person in Hazel's company, they could be a very cute couple.💕
@Birodalom1 yeah, because Hazel is such a truly empathetic character, and she's not insecure at all. Or more like, she may be insecure about certain things, but she's honest in what she does, says, and feels - contrary to PJ. They would make a cute couple, but PJ does have some excuses to make and has to become aware and interested in other people's feelings instead of only herself first. But they're on the right track by the end of the movie!!
It s a choice to play Bella like that I believe. Bella is supposed to be awkward and quirky like that. It was a choice from the directors for sure. Same with Edward s acting:)))

I cracked up so hard watching this, I've never seen anyone come into a reaction of Twilight knowing so little and it's perfect. If you take the books into account, as well as how this movie is written, directed, and edited, I'm almost certain that Robert and Kristen are nailing their roles. They were just screwed from the get go. The thing about Twilight is that whether you think it's good or bad, whether it's your cup of tea or not, you're going to have a blast watching it. What other movie has ever accomplished that.

I absolutely agree w u ab the hookup. They absolutely took advantage of him. Missy even points this out but they just brushed over it. Tbh Harper is fhe worst character to me bc she took advantage of malakai and she did all these things to amerie and by the end of the show they js make up and if drove me crazy. Poor malakai deserved sm better imo
