This beach was the most relaxing beach on the island of Kauai 25 Years ago I lived in Kauai for 5 years not so many tourist , no traffic jam Life was much peaceful .
Was there a few weeks ago on Norwegian , took the bus up and the train back. That way, you get different views. The bus stopped for photo ops and our driver was a local who was able to keep us entertained with stories of growing up and living in Skagway.
Very cool! That's a great option--doing a combo tour. I just learned about this option this morning in a YT video by The Travel Scouts. Did your bus tour stop at the Alaska welcome sign?

I'm not sure why no lotion in the cabin is a surprise. Lotion has never been provided on any of our cruises. They provide liquid soap and a combination shampoo conditioner.
We would never recommend NCL We went to Cozumel.thats a $3000.00 cruise for 2.this don't include any tips or gruity...we will try Royale Caribbean or go back to Carnival
We did a 14 day repositioning cruise on NCL $3000 covered 2 one-way airfare to Rome, 2 nights in an air bnb, free at see (3 speciality dining, wifi, $50 off excursions and the drink package) NCL is fantastic in our opinion. I do look for deals on a weekly basis.

If you're opposed to wasting paper on printing deck plans, you can also print them to a PDF and put them on your phone for offline use outside of the NCL app.
Thank you! I keep checking the weather. It still seems cold to me right now. I am cold natured from TX lol so not use to the cold. What was the temperature when u went like 65-75°? Also im assuming ship deck is cold how cold was that? Lol then im wondering how cold inside the ship will be?🤔.
@@bleumustang6362 I'm not used to cold either. It felt like low to mid 60s for early morning and evening, and then 70s (very sunny & hot) for afternoon. The temps outside of the ship on deck did shift from warmer to cooler, but not very chilly. Inside temps also shifted in common areas but cabin always seemed comfortable. At times common areas were warm for me, and I wanted shorts, other times I wore sweaters and was fine. If you get cold easily I recommend pants and long sleeve shirts and then have other layers (shorts, sweaters and jackets) to layer up and down on the ship, on the deck and on land. Excursions such as whale watching can get cold--take a warm jacket or at least a sweater for that one.
@@LivetheLifeMedia thank you so much for your great helpful info. I so appreciate it! I want to bring a pair of light sweatpants but i guess the thick ones will probably be over kill. I also bought some warmer rain pants but i probably won’t need them tho i may still bring them just incase! Lol. This is a hard decision lol.
@@bleumustang6362 I did bring light joggers, which I wore onboard and they were comfortable. I also brought the 2 light-weight waterproof pants shown in the video and while it didn't rain (which is highly unusual), the light ones would have been all I needed as I had other layers at the ready (jeans, sweater, light weight puffer jacket etc). It doesn't hurt to throw a few extra items in just in case, either for cold or heat!

Was this Alaska cruise in July 2023? I'm doing a quick Alaska cruise on the Bliss, mid June 2024, and then, I'll be on the Encore in October, for a Panama one way, Seattle to Miami. Do you recommend flying into Seattle, the day before the cruise, or are you a same day flier? Both of my 2024 cruises start in Seattle. I'm flying in from Chicago. I'm going to put the PDF files for all the floors, for both ships, on my phone.
Yes, July 2023. Lucky you! 100% fly the day before. You never know if you might experience an unexpected delay or canceled flight. Please see my other video about embarkation day for the NCL Encore, in which I recommend arriving in the morning to the ship: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AjIF3CGDE9U.html. Stay tuned for dining tips on the Encore, to be posted soon! Have a wonderful time on both trips!
@@LivetheLifeMedia I've always booked my flights with the cruiseline, so if there is a problem with the flight, it's on them. I'll probably fly there the day before.
@@LivetheLifeMedia I inquired with NCL about flying in the day before the cruise, and they quoted me a disturbing $465 for one person, one night, at the Westin.
@@billkallas1762 Our party booked our own hotel, a very old one near the airport. It was very inexpensive, but not very nice, lol! Maybe try looking at the hotels located near Pier 66 on your own. Good luck!
That older motel next to the ship is the hotel where the Beatles stayed when they did a concert in Seattle during the 1960s. There were a lot of pictures showing them fishing from the window in their room. They actually caught a fish and put it in their bathtub!
I have a question. My understanding is that the cabins on Encore are not ready until late afternoon, like 3pm or later. Was this your experience? I really don't want to have to lug around my carry-on baggage around waiting for our cabin to he ready.
Yes, the cabins on Encore are not ready until late afternoon. I don't recall our exact time, but I'd say it was between 2 pm and 4 pm. However, there is no need to lug around baggage because you can drop off all of your luggage ahead at Pier 66 (look for the conveyor belt and the staff loading luggage). You just need to have the NCL luggage tags on your luggage. This identifies your cabin number. Each guest can bring up to 2 pieces of luggage. NCL will mail you luggage tags about 30 days prior. If you take a backpack with you with a few essentials you might need before your cabin is ready, you can relax and enjoy a leisurely lunch.
