Thanks for video Ben, I just purchased some 2nd Precor equipment from a gym refurb. The machines are at my home. I have no idea on where to start with registration and connecting them to the internet , they all have the P82 consoles.
I'm looking to buy a refurbished Precor machine for my home - and was wondering how I would get it connected/registered/updated etc. Did you manage to get it sorted?
Hi Ben, Any advice if the maintenance option isn’t available or showing up on my P82 console for Precor EFX882 elliptical? The other 4 options are present ( About/Event Log/system settings/no available updates). My resistance isn’t working, as well as the ramp incline/decline. Everything lights up as if it should on the screen, so not exactly sure where to start. Thanks!
Hi mate. I have just purchased a second hand precore treadmill as per this video and am having the same issue. Is replacing the front roller the only way to fix this? And where can I purchase from? I’m in Melbourne and there are not many service techs available.
Hi Mate, front rollers are around AUD$1000, you can drill holes through the plastic pulley into steel roller, then add 3 or 4 self tapping screws to hold pulley to front roller
@@firmbutton6485yes. Ben is correct. Its the battery located either behind the frontmost cover of the machine, near the floor. Should be 4 screws holding the battery cover on. If this is an AMT or older model, this location may not apply. Be sure not to plug the battery wires incorrectly. That would be an expensive mistake
This issue can happen with the standard console Precor Console treadmills as well.. if you have a non touchscreen console, you can get into the maintenance mode by pressing CLEAR, 6, 5, ENTER at the homescreen.
Why don't you demonstrate how easy it is there boss. We didn't come to a video to hear someone describe the technique. This is useless. Let's see the drive belt walk on and off technique.
Thanks for trying to help, but slow down when providing the codes. It’s impossible to get them because you blurt them out so fast, no pause, and kind of mumbling.
The P31 console is powered from the grey flat comms cable, you can loosely fit cat5 or cat6 internet router blue cable to test if its the data cable, other then that you will need another lower circuit board or another P31 console to confirm if console or lower circuit board is the issue
Is there any physical technique to unstick a stuck key? or does it mean the key pad is damaged and cannot click back into place for normal use? I have an older EFX556 that was was going great, but has the dreaded "stuck key" message, probably no parts available any more too. I haven't disconnected the ribbon cables yet, but I will and hopefully it's the top button bank thats stuck and not the resistance controls.
No, you can't unstuck a stuck key, once you identify that a stuck key is the issue, the keys are made of thin metal & key is stuck down because the thin metal is broken, you need to identify the stuck key then replace that overlay sticker with button keys on it.
I bought a p80 machine for my home gym, but the left hand step adjustment buttons don’t seem to do anything. Will have a look in service mode to see if I can check they are working.
If the left stride toggle isn't working, check the 12 volt 5Ah battery. If the battery is flat or under 12 volts, incline won't work. Maybe it's the toggle switch not working, but I would bet it's the battery.
Hi Ben. I finally managed to get round to getting the covers off(what a pain!) and have checked the battery, it’s a fine and healthy 12.65v unplugged from the machine. It actually looks recently replaced. So it’s not that. I’m Now trying to get the screen unit apart to check the switch for the incline. Any tips greatly appreciated :-)
Drive belt could be loose, you need to loosen 4x bolts holding drive motor & wedge long screwdriver or bar to hold tension on drive belt by pushing drive motor forward, apply baby power help keep drive belt stop squeaking
You can get a finer adjustment by loosening the little Allen bolt on the cog wheel then with a small flat head turn the potentiometer till it reads absolute zero. Then tightened the little Allen bolt.
Great video. I'm a service tech. I wonder if there us a way to re-notch the black plastic pos piece to get it to grip again, as an alternative to a $300.00 replacement roller. It seems like a faulty engineering issue Precor should address. Never had this issue with a v1 or 956i. These newer units are junk....
Hey Ben I have a P80 and we had the power go out the other day. Now my screen says Temporarily Unavailable Please you another machine. I can get into the backend settings but once I back out it just goes back to the temporarily unavailable screen. Not sure what to do. Can’t seem to find anything online. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Hi Mate, sorry to say 98% of the time, you will need new Console, the P80 console stops production 8 years ago & is un-supportrd by Precor, you can upgrade to the new P82 15" screen Console or P62 10" screen or LED just numbers & programs, no tv
@@BenHudspith ok thank you. I’ll probably go with the P82 then. We have a Precor AMT 885. Have had it about 3yrs but never hooked it up to the internet so never watched tv on it or anything but I know the wife will want the same display. Do you have a recommendation for the best place to buy from?
Thanks for the video here, very helpful. I have 4 Airdyne Pro and one of them has stripped threads in the frame. Can you send me some information on the thread recoil kit you used to doctor up those threads? Thank you!
Hi Ben, I think I have a slightly different issue - the gears on the Wattbike hub seem to go up and down if I push the right shifter - but nothing actually happens with the gears or the resistance. Any suggestions?
Hi Mate, check software should be 7.2.3 for P80, if treadmill check & clean wire connections for stop button & comms cable from console to lower circuit board.
@chrissirovyak2309 best way to update software is to register machine on Preva, this is free & the console will update overnight through internet, contact your countries precor distributor to register
