NEW FIRMWARE UPDATE FOR THE LENS: The issue I mention with the AF has been fixed via firmware update. You can get the latest samyang firmware here and update it the same way you would update the firmware on any lumix camera (attach the lens, drag the unzipped file to the SD card, go to firmware version, click update) www.lksamyang.com/en/support/support-download.php?type=3&model=L
Great video. I cannot fathom paying the price of the PolarPros. I ended up going with the Freewell as it's consistently touted as being good... and not just good for the price, but actually relatively good in general
Bought this cage and a few of the f22 mounts, along with the peak designs camera strap with the falcam quick release connected to it, absolute game changer when it comes to run and gun type stuff. with my s5iix i can go from taking pictures, to shooting rollers in 2 min
Standards i greats! So let have more of that :) I stay with Arca Swiss. And If I am forced to it: Manfrotto (When it is not my own gear etc.) Thats is enough.
I’ve been building my falcam accessory kit. It’s been so seamless and easy to have a camera, rig it, break it down, put it on a tripod, on a gimbal, and so much more.
Nice job on this video :) You're the first one to show the LCD screen while zooming. Very interesting. Others have shown a video while zooming, but not the screen shot. It shows the ISO and shutter speed are not changing while you zoom, but as the aperture changes the overall exposure looks good. As the aperture changes the exposure seems to remain constant. How can that be? I don't get it.
Thanks for the review. I think you covered the important points quickly, and gave a fair assessment. Q: Does the Pyro 7 monitor have a record indicator when the camera (NOT the Pyro 7) is in record mode? Yes, I realize I could send my camera's screen info to the Pyro 7, to show the camera's record indicator. However, I want to keep the Pyro 7 display uncluttered. FWIW, the Atomos Shinobi II has a camera record indicator, so I'm hoping Hollyland could include this, too.
I have a S5ii, not the X and this is hands down the best summarized video for all the fantastic features packed in this gorgeous camera body. After watching this video I felt in love with my camera even more even without the features on the X-version. Great effort and keep on posting Lumix videos! ✌️
Great video, just ordered 4 GH7s with the ARRI licenses and Leica zooms. Though I prefer Sony, I film big VIP events and need bulk cameras and Sony just gets too expensive and bulky.
For the Lumix S9 Mark II launch in 2025, only the wives and girlfriends of RU-vid camera reviewers will be invited to Japan. :D I like how you are able to expand the discussion and include different perspectives. Most Lumix S9 critics only see this camera from a creator/professional photographer's point of view. There are more potential point & shoot camera buyers than professional camera buyers. Guess who Panasonic are targeting? I'm looking for the smallest and cheapest, best IBIS, full frame camera that has lenses cheaper than Nikon, Canon and Sony. I only see Lumix S9. And your video gets a like from me.
Thank you for the video AND the download. I have a question about the shutter speed setting. Every video I've seen says set for angle/iso and your settings have sec/iso. Why is this not set to angle/iso, because everything I've seen says you should use 180 for angle. Thank you.
Just saw your video here which is funny. I’ve been a professional full-time Sony shooter for years. Yesterday, I sold my entire Sony dual a1 kit, fx3’s and lenses and have the Panasonic s5iix and lenses arriving today. Stoked to dive in and see what I’ve done! lol! But watching this was great! Thanks
Been exclusively on LUMIX for almost 2 years now from Sony. Haven't looked back. Just know the autofocus on LUMIX functions much different than Sony. Takes a minute to get used to. Enjoy!
@@DustinArmstrongPro thanks brother! I’m excited to dive into the system. Honestly the biggest draws the video functions (scopes etc.), open gate, and the ability to use anamorphic glass is awesome. Starting with the sigma 16-28, the new sigma 24-70, and the pana 70-200 f4. Definitely gave you a subscribe. Great content!
Remove the glass from a cheap polarizer filter and place the rotating ring between your lens and VND. You can now rotate the entire filter for the best color balance, but this might increase vignetting.
The NISI ATHENA adapter is bad news, I recently got one . The build quality is good but the problem I think is with the mount finishing, it grinds so much when mounted to the camera, and I know some DPs favor a very snug adapter , but the damn thing won’t come off the camera now, using my all force to unscrew it … it won’t bulge . it locks nicely on lenses without any problems… but now only god can remove it from my camera ( BS1H ) . Contacted NISI costumer service … and haven’t heard from them yet. I watched your video and decided to get the Viltrox for my S5XII wish me luck
great build. When shooting full-sensor (open gate) can you send the proper signal to the monitor to showcase your framing of the full-sensor? Or does it default to the native 16:9 ratio of the monitor?
@@DustinArmstrongPro I'm waiting for my 500mm TTartisan. I'm very new in Astro photography, but I'm full of energy to make something great like this photo, love it
I know you mentioned this in the video about the gimbal having a port for camera focus, but which gimbal do you suggest for film students that are being taught manual focus (me)?
@@slackreviews yep I just took like 100 photos in time-lapse mode and centered as best as possible. Deep sky stacker auto aligns the photos in photo based on the stars
5 mins into a 7 min post and the "review" hadn't even begun, just the "reviewer" going into great detail about how he hadn't really used them, was in a rush, blah blah blah. Totally pointless.
