Replacing the power supply fixes the common USB issues. As the original power supply ages it stop supplying adequate voltage to the USB controller in the mixer. The replacement power supply fixes USB no connection / intermittent connection as well as issues with the onboard FX

Thank you for the information and how to assemble and put my new screen if you have a link where you bought your touch screen can you please put it up for the rest of the people to get it
Hello! The link is ebay.us/DFzy6d My account is still new and needs more history before I can put links in the description unfortunatley, but once it's ready I'll do it.
Hey I have the same car but the Sport Trim has the 7" version of the display. I cannot for the life of me find a replacement digitizer for it without buying a whole new 600+ dollar head unit. Has anybody tried with any luck and found the right size screen? I was considering trying the CX-5 7" but the bezels are different so I'm not sure if it will fit everything inside it the same without looking wrong on the dash. Thanks
Here's a forum post where someone used the 8" digitizer over their 7" screen and it worked out for them. Not sure about other alternatives myself. mazdas247.com/forum/t/2016-cx-9-7inch-infotainment-screen-repair-update-or-replace.123880598/post-6795581
I saw that... I guess I have no choice. I thought about doing that and using masking tape to mark the edges and then paint the inside black to hide the gaps assuming the paint won't damage the screen's functionality.@@techbananas69
In TN. Thanks for the knowledge sharing. Just bought one for my daughter's 2018 CX-9. Looked through the comments but no Joy on why these things seem to crack like this. Anyone? Easy to replace.
I have this same mixer, usb will not connect, makes a popping sound like a metronome when i plug in the usb, same when i switch it on with no usb attached for about a minute before i can use it but only as analogue and sometimes it makes weird rumbling sounds, do you think this replacement could do the trick ?
Yup! had the exact same symptoms on both my MTK22 and this MTK12. The power supply begins to fail (due to under specced components and excess heat) and it causes intermittent issues with the USB and onboard FX. I replaced the power supply on my MTK22 which had constant USB disconnects and took about a minute to power on and it's been stable since. This MTK12 in the video first had USB disconnects, then it got slow to power on, FX would flash on/off for about a minute when trying to power it on. Then finally it went completely dead. New power supply and its back to life
power supply went bad on mine, had it repaired (Authorized Tech literally one mile from home,.. lucky) Fast-forward one year later and now the USB doesn’t connect ,..
Thanks, need to try and and source it form somewhere else, I'm the Uk and for some reason it says " This product can't be shipped to your address. Select another product or address. "
Hey there how’s the repair holding up? Can you comment on the quality of the aftermarket digitizer? Compared to OEM obviously. There seem to be a lot of options out there.
@@techbananas69 That’s awesome! Thanks for the quick reply, going to order it today! What is the climate like where you are? I’m in Canada here and it gets pretty cold.
Just bought the same screen. Thank you very much for the clearest, easiest to follow instruction, and for saving me potentially several thousand dollars.
@@techbananas69 it took a little prying for me, maybe that adhesive strip that holds it on. But I got it. Thank you, this was a blessing. And the replacement part has decreased in price by quite a bit! Happy Thanksgiving!
Do I need to replace the digitizer/screen, or can I just remove it and leave it off? Mazda disables touch screen when driving anyway...I've never used the touch screen so I'd rather save the $300 and leave it off.
Yes, there’s a ribbon that connects the screen to the head unit for touch inputs, if you disconnect that then the touch is disabled but screen works through knob
I love it even though u said nothing whole vid... very detailed in the replacement and also the last part with throwing in the garbage and slamming it shut 😂😂😂... keep posting vids i encourage you to do so.. one love!!
