This is the cheapest, garbage, builder grade home I have seen in a long time. 3-tab shingles, no gutters on the roof, all of the windows are the exact same (cheaper for the builder), short plastic tub/shower inserts with the shower head coming out of drywall, loud and inefficient bathroom vent fans, cheap, $300 appliances, top mounted sinks with cheap fixtures, only 2 lights in the ceiling above the kitchen (making it a dark, not well lit kitchen), and so much more. Also, that isn't a small deck off the back door, it is a landing. This is very similar to what you'd see for a mobile home except they make larger ones for mobile homes. Not to mention, the southside of San Antonio is the worst side of town. I'd avoid this place like the plague. To even show this and advertise this kind of house only proves that you are terrible, greedy realtors. As the realtor advertising this house in your video, would you live there? Would you raise your kids there and send them to school in that district?
BRO! THANK YOU! I have been screaming this to the rooftops. YOU NEED EQUITY TO REFINANCE. That’s why if I’m going to take out a loan it’s going to either be an FHA or VA so I can do a streamline refinance later! “Buy the home date the rate” my butt

I live in Illinois and my daughter and son-in-law is in San Antonio Texas in a new subdivision I think it’s all beautiful and all but it’s so cheaply made all these homes being built I tell you what they live in a brand new home and it’s falling apart and they take good care of their stuff and it looks like the homes and thesebut so quickly you better think about it
My experience with a home I purchased from this company was nothing short of a disaster, and I strongly advise others to avoid making the same mistake. The lack of security was a major issue-my house was broken into and flooded. To make matters worse, there was a massive stud poking out from the wall on the second floor, which had just been painted over rather than properly fixed. In contrast, a friend of mine who purchased a home from DR Horton had his grading and yard drainage issues addressed immediately, something I didn’t experience. The supposedly 'amazing' warranty turned out to be nearly useless, as it didn’t cover critical issues like poor landscaping, which led to flooding in my side yard during the rainy season with no drainage to protect the foundation. Even though these problems were present when I moved in, I was constantly told they weren’t warrantable. I felt scammed, especially after signing a waiver that prevented the builder from correcting their mistakes. The company seemed more focused on building quickly with zero quality control, as the subcontractors clearly didn’t care about the quality of their work. The second-story carpet was missing padding in many areas, leading to popping sounds and dead spaces where there was no support at all. I wouldn’t recommend this company or any of their homes-the warranty was terrible, and the construction quality was appalling. If you’re considering a new home, look elsewhere. The fact that DR Horton provides better warranties and customer service than Castle Rock speaks volumes.

Beautiful homes. Nice area. However…..The minute you stated HOA is when I lost interest! We are searching for a 4 bedroom/2 bathroom single family home, 2 car garage, NO HOA, & a large backyard. Thank you.

Many different locations have levels of “Flood Zone” so ultimately it depends on the location of the home within this community and the survey of the home. @@DBR2011 I don’t believe that plan is built, or is no longer being built, here in San Antonio. I know of two plans that are comparable which are the Chelsea and the Manchester. Certain floor plans are built in other areas and that may be what the case is here. Are you familiar with the Chelsea floor plan?
No way!! It’s right near us!!! We will wait a few years in this house but would love to live in something like this. It is both new and private. We live in the BEST area (where this is) and this new neighborhood is really a gem! 💎 Thanks for sharing. Love you guys.

I'm really enjoying your very informative videos. Please continue to publish them. I have a question about the high property taxes in Texas. Is there an age at which the taxes are reduced? I know that most states have Homestead Exemptions. But does Texas has a program specific for residents over the age of 65? As it stands now, at 2 - 3 percent of the assessed home value, the taxes can be prohibitively expensive. Thank You!

In order to qualify the individual must be age 65 or older, have an ownership interest in the property and live in the home as his or her principal residence.

Excellent video! Very informative and complete with all relevant information regarding price ranges and available floor plans to choose from. As I said in my previous email, we are strongly considering relocating to San Antonio next year - Spring 2025. We are empty nesters and are not particularly interested in recreation facilities such as pools, golf courses, and such. We are interested in newly constructed homes - 3 - 4 bedrooms, 2.5 - 3 baths in the neighborhood of 2100 - 2200 square feet. Again, thank you for the GREAT information!

San Antonio is a great place to call home but of course Alyssa and I have lived here our entire lives. Have you visited before? Or thinking about visiting to get a better idea? To answer your questions: 1) Yes, we have visited San Antonio several times - the last time was in September 2022 when our youngest son completed Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base. 2) We do plan to make another visit - especially prior to settling on our next and final relocation. 3) As I mentioned, we are empty nesters and aren't interested in amenities such as pools, golf courses, and recreation/play grounds and such. I realize it may be hard to find newly constructed communities that doesn't have those facilities. But at our age (60ish) we won't use them. We do need a location that is safe and secure however. Security is a high priority for us. Also, as I am military retired, we would like a location within a reasonable driving distance to one of the several military bases in the SA area. Our price range is $300,00 - $400,000 - for a 3/4 bedroom, 2/3 bath, single level (preferably) home. We currently own our home in Georgia and will need to sale before buying the new one.
