Sioux Falls is the largest city in South Dakota. We're growing every year. We have something to offer everyone, from a low crime rate to great schools to a redeveloping downtown.

Chief, if you really care, make sure your officers present themselves in a professional way. They are on camera many times being unprofessional, failing to identify themselves and violating the rights of the citizens.

This low dam above the falls seems to me only built for those living in the new luxury condos next-door. You’ve ruined the upper Falls with little or no input from residents so many of these projects seem aimed at the wealthy but paid for by the middle class with ridiculously high property taxes I will never complain about paying for schools, but this is getting out of hand
Hopefully they fix something if the richy-rich ones start complaining about it. One of the big points on the Steel District's site is "great views of the upper falls". There's no upper falls left! Hopefully people who buy these condos will realize this and maybe push for some sort of change? I feel like there should at least be 3 or 4 culverts instead of a full-on dam. Edit: I've done some more research and am a little more optimistic. First of all, the river is pretty low right now, which is why the upper falls look especially lackluster. Second, that road you see was entirely built for construction's use, and I'm pretty sure they are going to remove it, to leave just the concrete barrier (I still think they should put a few gaps in it or something. Maybe they will, who knows). And third, the dam is only supposed to be six inches above regular river level, which I can't decide whether that is a significant amount or not. Either way, I still think we will have some people complain about this, because it will look pretty ugly if a whole side of the Steel District overlooks plain Sioux Quartzite with no water. Also, the whole point when building a dam is to get as much water away from it as possible during construction, so that might be the phase we are in now.
This video deserves so many more views. I can not express enough appreciation for how this became a reality. It's well worth coming to from all over. Whether in our country or other countries.
That wouldn’t be out of Lumen’s control… data center redundancy. By geographic location… might be safer for them to put a backup data center up here instead of on a coast near hurricane areas…
I grew up in Sioux Falls, but lived in Fort Collins for 19 years before moving back to Sioux Falls. Both of those cities are home to me so hearing them compared makes absolute sense. Fort Collins is great and I can see us looking to them for inspiration in many ways. We have a better Symphony though!
What's the reason to have it mounted at least 6 feet from a bathroom? I have the furnace inside a closet in the hallway, but it's also across from the bathroom in that hallway. The existing SA/CO detector is in the hallway right in between the furnace and the bathroom.
