Thank you for the info. I was recently diagnosed with Dementia/Alzheimer's. My mom has it also. I'm getting all the information I can, while I'm able to.
Absolute excellent pod cast, with totally on target answers to questions that every caregiver, or Alzheimers diagnosis are needing answered. Great great great job.
I hope this comes to be a treatment soon, I have dry macular degeneration and I’m 57, I’ve ready lost much of the central vision in my left eye, my grit eye is still good, but I don’t want to lose that now too.
I am in a study involving lecanemab based out of Summit Research in Portland Oregon. I am now doing subcutaneous every week at home after a year plus of infusions at Summit.
my husband's family on his dad's side had numerous members with Alzheimer's. My late husband was diagnosed at 59 based on neuropsych testing and family history. He tested negative for Psen 1&2, Apoe 3/3. When I tested for ApoE before I tested him I came back 3/3 - thought I was safe. I have a family history of women with dementia. At almost 72 and alone would be nice to know my risk - no symptoms currently but most of the women started in late 70s or 80s. Maybe I will look into the blood test he mentions. Was sure his would come back with at least on ApoE4 but nope, 3/3
Thank you for explaining the progression of the disease and how many with the disease don't accept that they have early signs. As a result early approaches are not utilized.
Damn, never seen anyone so happy about having AMD. Not to be rude, but why in hell are you laughing about this? Your attitude about this is actually annoying and impossible for me to continue watching the video. Btw, everyone has some small holes in their retina, not just those with lattice degeneration. I was told I had LD in 2000 and my ophthalmologist never even mentions it to me anymore. Told me not to worry about it. Anyway, all the best for you.
Some people deal with hard things different . Some people laugh to keep from crying . People can get through things however they need to . I have dark humor no pun intended so I’m constantly making jokes about this .
Facing dementia at a young age is challenging, but please know that you are not alone. Seeking information and understanding your experience can be empowering. Remember to reach out to your support system, whether it’s friends, family, or support groups. Thank you for tuning in to our program.
Great news information, my mom has Lewy Body dementia after being misdiagnosed with Parkinson’s for 8 years. She is a stage 6d. Some days are better than others. We finally had her and my dad enter a assisted living and she is doing pretty good there since my dad is with her. I don’t think she would be able to stay there if she was alone.
A very good start for me with my concern about this disease. I am 8o and noticing things that start to concern me about this disease. More info and what I can do about it will be helpful. Thank you

Per Dr. Sharyn Rossi, BrightFocus Foundation’s Director of Scientific Programs, Neuroscience: “Some science has shown that caloric restriction can increase longevity and be beneficial for brain health/function. Caloric restriction changes the way your body processes fuel shifting from glycolysis to ketosis. It also causes many downstream genetic changes that influence inflammation, metabolic function, cellular support and survival, and genes associated with longevity. It is always important to ensure you are consuming the correct macronutrients and vitamins and minerals as recommended by your health care professional. Malnutrition can result in cognitive problems similar to dementia symptoms.” Thank you for your question & all the best!
