@@natemarean8787 I cared enough to say so because what you point out was obvious to me after only a moment. I may not know the words for what I'm looking for but I know it when I see it and she's more even than you describe; I'd bet money on it.
It's Bonnie's song but Brandi does a great job. She has also covered several of Joni's songs that she also knocked out of the park. I see it as a wonderful tribute, an homage to the original and also believe this is how these songs live through generations, as a legacy to the giants like Bonnie and Joni. For the record, Brandi is well on her way to joining that pantheon of the best songstresses ever. Sit back and enjoy her work. THat's my advice.
It's just a cover, man. It's not some emotionally fraught homage to the muses of the ages, the eternal musical gods, and all are brought to bask in the mighty light of beauty and art. It's a cover.
what ??? I Can't Make You Love Me was written by Mike Reid (an ex-Cincinnati Bengal defensive lineman) & Allen Shamblin .... I absolutely love Prince, but he didn't write this song (he wrote a "blue million" masterpieces, but not this one) .... google it, I did .... (someone else also stated the same song writer as being Mike Reid in a comment above 2 years ago)
OMG!!!! This is the first time I"ve heard you sing this cover and I am BLOWN AWAY!!!! I, for one can't believe this is the first time I've heard this version but, just like every other song, I'm BLOWN away!!!!
