The trick is going to be seeing a doctor right when you have symptoms. If your not breaking out with blisters honestly you could be paranoying yourself. Best way to tell is go get a blood test to see if you have any antibodies for hsv in your blood then if you test positive for 1 or 2 or both then the chance is more likely. Like I said go catch the eye doctor when your having symptoms or go get screened for hsv antibodies. Depending on how old you are and how long you've had hsv usually the outbreaks aren't as bad as you get older if you even have it to begin with
