Can a Firefighter and a stay at home Mom carve out an Off Grid Homestead in the North Idaho Wilderness? Come along on our journey towards freedom and independence not just for us but many Generations to come, all to the Glory of God. Over the last two summers we have cleared trees off our homesite, built a pole barn, installed a septic system, dug a shallow well and installed all the underground utilities. We are entering build season number 3 this year (2024) and are excited for the ambitious plan to have our home dried in before winter. We are happy that you are following along.

We can’t all the credit, we put our idea of the song we want in to a song maker app and it spits out a song. It’s like the music machine 😂 we’ve been having fun using it
Very nice chair, looks comfy. I am sure it's very helpful for those who need it. Gotta say the irony of a couple living 'off grid' endorsing an 'electric chair'. 😉 I very much enjoy your video's.
The greater irony is a couple building their own house by themselves promoting lift chairs 😂 We’re building a modern homestead, we have electricity and are thankful for it ☺️
Our anchor bolts did not arrive with washers, however we did install washers prior to the bottom plate install that just ended up on the editing room floor😄 thank you for your concern
First time viewer, was amazed at all your hard work, really found it interesting, you have caring family friends and neighbours such a blessing. I watched all the vids, fantastic to see your vision come to life.
By installing each stud one at a time we were able to adjust the height within a 1/8” so our floor will be level. In the video you may have seen us checking our stem wall with the laser. That way we knew how much to adjust each stem wall studs.
It’s us, we’re the framing crew. 😂 We actually had an amazing group of friends that came to help us frame. Many hands definitely made lighter work. Stay tuned for that video
I know that it has been a long journey to this point, but keep pressing on. So much of the hard, tedious stuff including this stem wall is not what people will see once you’re finished, but it will be the reason everything works. They will see the house and how beautiful it is, but you’ll have the satisfaction in knowing that you have a strong foundation, a water and septic system in place and solar ready to run this homestead. Oh, where did you get the concrete song? Too cute.
