@@kevinjones6435 Only the Drop Bears. 😂 No, we Aussies joke to the rest of the world about Drop Bears. As for other animals, it’s the same as anywhere else, if you invade their territory, they will attack if they want. Crocodiles will take a human quite quickly if you ignore the signs but they are Far North Qld, North Northern Territory and North WA. Brown snakes can kill if you get bitten and don’t get to a hospital quick enough and we have them around but very rarely see them. A big cranky male kangaroo could kill you if he kicked you but that would be rare. Sharks can kill and we have plenty of those. It’s really a great country to live in.

@thomaskaufmann226 11 дней назад
Hello Bob, Tom here. Wendy told me about your question. Let's start with editing. I do it all on an iPad with the apple iMovie app. It's really intuitive at least for me. We had some issues with storage capacity so we bought a laptop to edit on and I have tried many different editing apps but the laptop sits unused. I simply can't get my head around the editing on it. I'm back to the iPad, it's just soooo much better for me at least. The iMovie app doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the " big name editing apps" but it's much simpler, (like my brain🤣). As for video, we have a DJI Osmo Action 3 with the DJI wireless microphone set-up. Have had issues with these under warranty and the camera was replaced because the USB-C port literally wore out, so no one has the perfect set up. There are lots of tutorials on RU-vid for different microphone set ups for GoPros, so have a search there and you'll be well advised, I'm sure. Good luck with it all and ask anytime, only I'm not that clever, clearly, by the amount of cockups we have🤣, cheers👍

That comparison of Australia over the United States in size was very interesting. From what I’ve always known, road trains are semi’s pulling 3 trailers? The 5 cylinder Volvo diesel in the old Ford Ranger had to be refilled el-pronto otherwise it would not pick up the fresh oil. I believe the Rotax engine runs a dry sump which means the oil is not directly under the crankshaft, but in another part of the engine. Still can't see why it has to be drained hot🤔.

Did you work out what the rattle was for the air cleaner body - part that fixes to the engine? I notices when changing the oil - checked the air filter - and my wifes Ryker also moves. @thomaskaufmann226 2 месяца назад
Good evening Lady's and Gentlemen, thanks for the question. I'll start by saying I have compared the 600 to the 900, they both have the same air box and the one on the 900 is rock steady and the 600 has slight movement. Enough movement to cause a rattle at idle. Then if the outer section as shown in the video, has any looseness, it amplifies the rattle even more. Long story short, I just put some high density foam between the two plastic bodies, the air housing and the CVT housing, sort of behind the park brake lever. One day soon I'll do another video on opening the clam shell which gives great access to all the internals and show all this in detail. For now it seems the foam packing and sealant on the outer part of the air filter have stopped the rattle. You mentioned too about checking the air filter, do you know about the other air filter on the other side for cooling the CVT housing. It was way worse than the engine filter in our case, indicating to me that it pulls much more air in than the engine. The filters are the same part number. Worth a check. Ok, hope you both have a ball riding, cheers, Tom.

I had ridden two-wheelers for many years. My most recent bike was a Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager 1700. I loved it but it reached the stage where it was getting too much to get up off the stand and to handle at low speed in town. I decided I wanted to keep riding so I went for a Can Am Spyder. I have a 2012 RT Ltd. I considered the Ryker but I wanted a few more creature comforts and the bells and whistles that go with the Spyder. For someone who has never ridden a two-wheeler there is nothing to unlearn but for a former two-wheeler rider I had to unlearn all the skills I knew and learn some new ones. This is tricky because I also own a Suzuki Burgman 650 scooter. The extra stability of the front wheels is a big safety feature. For an elderly person (like myself at 71) or someone with a slight build the challenge of holding up a big bike is not a problem and so the Ryker or Spyder is a good option. I hope you have many hours of enjoyable riding and I look forward to more of your videos.

I know you want to promote the Ryker as an alternative to motorcycles for seniors and of course it is a three-wheel machine but it is still classified as a motorcycle and therefore you are required to take a stay upright course before you can get a permit. Further only the 600 is LAMS there is a 900 version that is not LAMS. It is true that it doesn't lean and if you've never ridden a two-wheeler you have nothing to unlearn but as someone who moved onto a Spyder from a two-wheeler I had to learn a whole new set of skills. Of course you can't put everything in one video and I know you were trying to give an introduction to the machine but I feel the points I made are important for potential buyers to know. I hope you have lots of hours of fun riding the Ryker.

Thank you for commenting. I have commented on future videos regarding the LAMS and the licensing process. It is all so different when it comes to 3 wheels. I do wish the rules were the same across Australia. I have had comments from some other countries and in New Zealand and Norway, a car licence is only required. In Texas, USA, they are very strict, more so than here.

I own a Can Am Spyder and love it. I can see the appeal of the Ryker - three wheels with a twist and go operation. The Ryker is an affordable option for those who want the safety which is the reason I went from a two-wheeler to the Spyder. As you no doubt know you must take a stay upright course to get a permit to ride a Ryker as it is classed as a motorcycle. I see now that in some states there are specialised three-wheeler training courses but you must supply your own machine. I hope you have many hours of enjoyable riding on the Ryker.

In Norway you can ride three wheeled bikes on a car license. There's an exception because of the three wheels.

Here in Texas they have a special 3 wheeler provision you can get on your drivers license. They want you to take the two day 8 hours each day class. There are 8 hours total of classroom time and 8 hours total of on the cycle time. You are not allowed to use your own bike. You have to use the big touring spiders that are provided. Then there is a written exam at the end of the two days. Then you simply wait a few days for the school to electronically notify the state that you passed both the driving and written tests. You walk into the department of motor vehicles, you give them your current license. It is simply replaced with a new license where you are endorsed for automobile and the three wheeler. You will not be able to legally drive a two wheeler. . In California when I lived there, you did not have to have a special provision for a three wheeler You could just use your regular automobile license. I took the class anyway while there and had a blast. I easily passed the class. However the big C then happened, then some financial issues happened. I then did not want to finance. So I have been saving. And will have cash to pay in about two months. Texas requires that you take the class in Texas because the rules of driving on the road are different than California. So I should probably begin looking for the class. Hopefully there is not a waiting list. I want to drive Route 66 next summer after I get back from Spain. I think I am going to get the 900 cc engine. The USA is so huge ( as is Texas…..lol…). That it would be difficult to get anywhere without spending some time on the freeway. But as much as possible I will avoid the freeways and drive what I really enjoy which is the country roads through all the beautiful small towns and smaller cities. I am not a big city girl. I also live out in the country like you.

Thank you for your interesting feedback. Wow, I thought Australia was strict; that’s very intense. It annoys us here in Aus. that there are different rules for different states. We don’t understand why it can’t be the same across the country. I guess it is understandable in the USA having 50 states but still annoying. Interesting about the touring spyders that are provided. We have to use our own as 3 wheelers are not provided. If you are going for a two wheeler licence and don’t have your own, you have to pay quite a bit to hire one of the training centre’s. Of course, I speak for NSW and the company I went through but it could be different in other states. I too have suffered the big C and the process was horrid. Grateful that I and yourself are here to tell our stories. Our next video to come is exciting for me and I hope you see it. We wanted to record today but it is miserable weather with rain coming so hopefully in the next few days. Thank you for watching. It makes us happy. 😊❤️

Watching you near the end and seeing how much trouble you were having getting on the bike reminded me of why I'm getting a sidecar fitted to my bike and why a Ryker might be a good choice for those that can afford one.

Good point David. The shaft is such a saving in time and maintenance. As for remembering, I need a script on the bike to read from but I fear the wind would blow it around way too much. I promise to improve. Wait, thats a big call, let's just say I'll try harder😂. Thanks for the comment 😊

As I was watching you repairing the air filter housing all I could think was that duct tape will fix the problem 😀. You forgot to mention the best part of the Ryker, the shaft drive. It makes looking after them so much easier after you have been bush on it. I used to have the Spyder but was always worried about the belt but with the Ryker that's not a problem anymore.

Thank you for commenting. ☺️ No plans on the 600. So pleased to hear you are enjoying your Ryker at 82. Not sure I will be able to get my leg over the seat if I reach 82. We have only been to Alaska and Seattle airport in the USA but maybe one day will go further afield. 😀
