Why would you turn off commenting on your trommel compost sifter? Sounds like you're the kind of guy who can't take criticism. It's a great idea and I'm sure most people would say it's too much work, but it beats the hell out of running your fingers over a sifting screen. I can't tell you how many gloves I've destroyed sifting soil. But These days I have this area out back where someone poured concrete footings for a garage but didn't finish it.. The whole inside has been filled with rock, but also is now 5 foot tall grass.. My desire is to sift out the rock next winter and lay in raised garden beds, and put down plastic and pavers to keep the weeds out. the rock I want to sift out and use in walkways, so I want to build something like this and also a section that is a bit heavier duty that would wash the rock.. And of course I'd also have the roots and weeds to deal with.. Perhaps it would be better for me to dig up the rock and pile it up to let the weeds compost, then run it through something like this. This also would be amazing for my compost pile. Anything too big to sift gets thrown back onto the pile to break down further. it really is a great tool, and you've shown proof that you don't have to power it by electricity. I hope you decide to allow commenting, as I think a lot of people could benefit from talking about it.
