Grime is the man but imma just keep on drawing water and waves so I don’t lose the plot and forget how to draw finger waves etc. Grime did mention a great book that may be better than having a bunch of stamps that are lifeless. Stamps are really hard to use and they make tattoos look super stiff. A combo of both can sometimes work but it’s hard to make an entire tattoo feel soulful by solely using an iPad. Not hating just keeping it real. Peace and love 🙌🤌❤️
We don’t disagree with you. We look at flash stamps as a reference tool and a way to get ideas on the screen quickly… but we still believe in drawing and the artist adding their spin on it. Thanks for the comment.
Hey russ, Kyle here. how do you appraoch your 3d work flow with a clients body map? i map most clients when designing sleeves and such. best solution i have found is warping the clients body map to the 2d layer of they closest approprate matching model. just wondering if you have herd or found a better soloutuion? thanks for always putting out help info!
Hey Kyle, I’m always experimenting and seeking the best solution. With a few recent projects I used the clients body map more towards the end of the design process just to see where I need to adjust the design before any final outlines were printed as stencils.
the long press in apple photos is so clutch. i used to use select tool, circle around the reference, invert, 3 fingers down swipe, cut. now it’s drag n drop
Great video, I have a recommendation. Please add rulers...there's no reason why procreate should NOT have rulers! Also, we need a way to arc text.....and since we're on the subject, we need a way to display special characters from fonts that have them. That is all. Thank you :)
Thanks for the recommendations. There are limits to what Tattoo Smart can add to Procreate… we don’t develop the app. But we will definitely think about how to solve these problems you raised.
You're the best! Thank you for your tutorials and the wonderful give away. I'm a total beginner with procreate. You explain everything so good that it is easy to follow. You have such a calm and great way of explaining that it's fun to listen to you. <3
Wow that ai copy trick is great, but even easier than you described. I just automatically drag and dropped and the same thing happened without all the extra steps! That's wild as hell. Good to see you on here Russel, I've taken a couple seminars with you before, nice to see you're still at the forefront of teaching in our industry.
I agree that procreate has very awesome features, including stabilization, however, you better practice practice and practice more, because that stencil has to go on someones body, and there is no magic button to keep your machine stabile.
I love the quickness and stuff but I feel it not benefit me to be better at drawing i want to realy draw and shade things . instead of dropping colors i im investing in more brushes and want to make my own fav folder or as example a greywash set so I get the tattoo feeling ( doesn't need necessary the tattoo card brushes because the ones I tried did not realy feel real ) But I use the world famous set a lot , and the noire ink set . i want to design and color with this tones because that would give me the best reference offcourse . Not have all the knowledge yet but love to get it like when I get the ghost wash then it is that tone and offcourse I want to build it up but now I can make too dark tones from the lightest wash so the speak even when tje opacity is not in the max . So anyone have some tips :) Because its a great tool also the 3D models it has so much potential if it didnt have the one flaw that make it useless . You cant design decent on the inside positions inner arm , inner bicep , inner forearm outside all is great but the inside doesn't connect If you guys can make that work then its real game changer . dont hating on you , you kindly aknnowledges the problem already a big while back . Love your customer service ! Hoped you fixed the problem but as I understand even after the update this problem still exist . for me its a deal breaker and that is so sad because its so powerful so fingers crossed hihi

Hi, thank you for sharing all this knowledge. Been using procreate for couple years but still kind of as my paper sketchbook, and it was hard slow and confusing with so many options. Now learning to use these tools makes me excited to make more stuff digitaly.❤️🔥❤️🔥
I started Tattooing back in the mid 90s till recently when I had to retire due to MS Tattoo Smarts remorse’s have been great therapy, keeps me drawing and part of the team , thanks so much for sharing your knowledge gift packs and inspiring videos .
Great videos, your teachings are highly appreciated. I would like to ask, why some of the tones in your grays look blueish? I turned off True Tone and night shift in the iPad.
Could be one of a few reasons. 1. My camera settings or the color grade I applied to the videos. 2. I used a cool gray palette (I do that sometimes) 3. Your display. Glad you enjoyed the series!
- 1 dot for $100 minimum is nothing but greed. Yes you should feel guilty, because it's not about the art. Long gone are the days of real artists that love the art, it became a car salesmen type environment.
This is a very informative video. I'm not a tattoo artist, but I draw tattoo illustrations. I bought ipad pro for that purpose. Among the procreate brushes, the one I most recommend is Tattoo Smart's spitshade brush. I've been using this for years and it's like no other.
in gallery or photo viewer, just touch and hold the area that you want to keep, and hold the pen down and it will auto select the object - copy - paste into open P-Create image
G.day Russ thanks for putting this together mate I have had my ipad and procreate for a year and still trying to work it the series just makes it a little easier . Thanks again.😅
I just wanted to say a quick thank you. Not only is this series amazing, but ive also been using your brush set and color pallettes like crazy since. I really only go to monoline and medium spray paint can and your set now. I wish more people could see this.
