David Ruffin was never overpowered ! By anyone including Berry Gordy ! Who couldn’t even handle him👍 Everyone knew he was great ! Too bad the drugs got him 😞 When he died his money was taken away from him at a drug house and he was left on the road
100% Berry Is A Punk ! At Mary Wilson’s Funeral He Was There ! At Westwood Villiage Cemetery ! He Sent a standing Spray Of Flowers With HIS ! Name On It ! What A Self Centered Bastard!
Addiction is a very serious illness and this was something David fought his whole life but never fully overcame which in the end succumbed. He was the voice of the Temptations whose music will forever be timeless.
So very sad! Addiction took one of the all-time greats from us, way too soon. Addiction is no joke. If you are suffering, get help! Rip, David. That's not the Temptations.
He died from crack cocain overdose He was taken to the hospital in a limo , where they worked on him for about an hour And was unsuccessful in bringing David back
I love watching David perform this. However, these are NOT The Temptations he's performing with. I truly wish the problems Ruff experienced hadn't led to the Temps and he parting ways. That original Unit-David, Eddie, Melvin, Paul, and Otis-was magnificent, and always will be.
All genious are one short step from falling all over the edge, sadly this happened to this absolutely great singer, the best to come out of Motown,no doubt about that.
We didn't know how good we had it when the Temptations entertained us. Looking at David Ruffin you would never know that he was stoned when singing. That was when we could dance to music, we could relate to the lyrics because we could hear them. My mind is flashing back when he wasn't expected to be on state and all of a sudden he shows up in a beige suit that matches the other guys and sings to an elderly lady sitting at a table. The guy knew how to open our hearts to the good music.
In the movie The Temptations, the character who played David Ruffin said to Eddie Kendricks, "We are the voice of the Temptations". David Ruffin was the voice who carried the group. I have watched the movie more than a dozen times and I still can't get enough of their magic.
Dennis was too! That's why David, Eddie, and Dennis was touring together as the temptations when David suddenly died in Philly, they were set to do a new tour in Europe and not long after Eddie passed away.
There's no way David Ruffin carried the Temptations. Without Eddie that silky smooth tenor voice could not b replaced. They continued with Dennis without David. Everyone had their preference. David was no better than Eddie.
I AM SO SORRY THAT WICKED DRUG ENTER YOUR SOUL AND WOULD NOT LEAVE YOU OH GOD WE PRAYED FOR YOU And PRAYED BUT IT WOULD NOT LEAVE REST iN PEACE DAVID RUFFIN AMEN❤ REST IN PEACE AMEN❤
The background group is NOT the Temptations...respectfully, their name is "Splendor" the Background group of Eddie Kendrick, an Album Recorded by Atlanta International Records in 1984
I was there ... I am Keith Silver, Community Assistant to Legendary Eddie Kendricks, from 1982 Temptation ReUnion Tour until Oct 5, 1982 when Ed, transitioned.
I'm a hard Rock VOCALIST but David Ruffin was one of the greatest Motown is my favorite David is so amazing his voice is up there with all guys like Freddy Mercury or Dio anyone God rest his soul
