This guy went a totally wrong way with his car he doesn't know anything.i have the same car 2015 rallart I got 400hp stock turbo.ask me I have the best mechanical person on my car.ps just ask if you want to know my mods
Hey man, been thinking about getting a RA from my ES, and would want to get it modded to make around the same hp as yours if I were to get one. How's the mpg looking like and how much was ur performance mods cost so far? excluding the brakes, tires, wheels, aesthetics.
@@RedZekester They come with an enormous list of problems. Ayc pump, timing chain, tranny, turbo etc. maintenance is insanely expensive, stock they’re only pushing 200 wheel horsepower. If you do modify it then you’re putting all of this money into something that’s still slow. The AWD system isn’t even from an evo either it’s from the last gen evo. Honestly not a good buy, plus people will call you out for a wannabe evo. Up to you at the end of the day though.
@@pd5041 shiiii, i just love how lancers look why I wanna stick with em. Can't afford an evo yet so I was thinking to go with a ra. U making me double think to just save up for an evo lol
@@RedZekester yea bro fr, I wanted one of these back in 2020 but when i found out rebuilding the tranny was 15K at the dealer or 5k at a shop I was like all of this money and work for a slow and weak car isn’t worth it. Just save up for a few years and buy a GSR.
Hey, sorry for the late reply. Stock intake with a drop in filter performed great for this setup. Also I had the bumper duct cutout for the stock intake so an aftermarket intake would have made it less efficient. Aftermarket intakes have their benefits but on a Ralliart it must be tuned otherwise the SST will react negatively to the modification.
i havé à ralliant and i’m looking at getting a louder exhaust any recommendations?? also with the quick release how did u fashion that i was under the impression that you have to keep the stock wheel
Salut! Je recommande Ultimate Racing pour un échappment, ils sont basés au Canada avec excellent produits et excellent service clients. Tout volant de rechange fonctionnera avec un adaptateur de moyeu. Pardonnez mon français, ça fait longtemps.
Are you talking about an aftermarket heated sump or the factory transmission cooler? I never had any overheating issues, I saw peak transmission fluid temps of about 90 - 100°C. I don't have any data saved anywhere anymore but I believe you're good up to 110°C.
@@torontotuners8218 Sorry, now re-reading i realized my question was a little bit misleading hahaha, what i meant, is if you have any kind of upgrades (be it to the OEM transmission oil cooler), or any other kind of upgrades on this regard
All good! My knowledge of the platform is slowly dwindling away so I'm trying best to remember information I used to keep. No upgrades for the SST aside from a TCU remap which was done by Silvertuned Performance.
Do you need to unlock the S-Sport mode ? I'm still new to Ralliarts and I only have sport mode. I didn't know about S-Sport mode. Any help would be appreciated
Hey there, im looking at a ralliart myself. This one ive been looking at has been tuned by silvertuned performance aswell as the sst rebuilt by sjl custom auto. However it has 160,000km. Previous owner has sst maintenance records. I was wondering how many reliable years or kilometers i can get and if it would be a good purchase. Thanks
If it's been tuned by Nick and has a built transmission from SJL and with all the maintenance history then it is absolutely worth it and will last the life of the engine. You probably have another 40,000km in it before you should have the engine inspected. Sorry I didn't answer sooner, I don't check the channel very often.
Can I get a video about your ralliart? Pros abs cons style of owning it that long. And why you sold it. And your overall thoughts on the platform. Please
There are lots of videos out there comparing the pros and cons about them and they're too many to list here. I can tell you it's such a fun car to drive, especially if they are modified and tuned properly. I do regret selling it and I'd love to own another in my lifetime.
You have my respect regarding your ride. Do you have the info regarding whom did the Big Brake upgrades? That info would be greatly appreciated & thanks for your time. 👍🏾
I did them myself actually, sourced the calipers used and had them powdercoated to a color I liked. Getting them to fit requires modification to the wheel hub by enlarging the caliper mounting holes. They bolt right up after that, you have to use larger Evo X rotors with them.
I wouldn't, no. They are becoming more rarer and older, thus having higher mileage and also more than likely haven't been maintained properly (always an odd one out there that has been cared for and is in good shape, but definitely a needle in the haystack). Not to mention the higher costs of maintaining and servicing of the AWD system (SST, front transfer case, rear differential, etc). If you're willing and have the funds to do so, I won't dissuade you since I went in the same way, without a single thread of knowledge about the platform. There is a plethora of information out there in forums and Facebook groups that can help as well.
@@torontotuners8218 thank you, I never really thought of it that way. Ralliarts and evos have always intrigued me but they may not be the best in the long run
@@BG-ds1ti I was in your boat wanting to get a Evo or Ralliart for my first car since they would be getting rarer by the second. I had the money to afford an Evo but overall not enough money to maintain it and it's insurance (i'm 18, it's my parents money handed down to me). So i decided for the next best thing and got a GTS 5-Speed. Uneventful, i know. But it's just to fulfull my Lancer Itch until i'm truely able to keep an Evo/Ralliart. It's extremely hard to find a 5 speed in South Florida as is so it was a no brainer to get it while it was still available. Hopefully by 21 i'll get my hands on one, it will be expensive but worth the wait.
Sorry, but you are absolutely wrong. The only parts of the SST that are prone to failure are the shift fork magnets and sensors, which should have been a warranty replacement that Mitsubishi should have covered since it was a costly fix for the owner. I never had a single issue with my SST, I only serviced it with OEM fluid, and it is still holding strong at 120,000km+, pushing a custom tune with over 300 torque to the wheels. The SST failures you hear about are the owners who use the completely wrong fluid, don't let it warm up properly before spirited driving, and complain when it fails on them, pouting that it's the car's fault and not theirs. The SST as a gearbox is very strong, as long as it is maintained and tuned CORRECTLY.
@@torontotuners8218 I’m absolutely right. Like I said “Minor mods” 300 torque is very minor mods. You obviously didn’t understand my comment. Those are all part of the sst trans and like you said costly to fix. It’s just the facts that the sst is much weaker than the 5 speed trans and if you’re going make decent power the sst is going to be more costly. If you just want to do full exhaust, intake and a tune then sst is fine but start doing more power mods and you will run in to issues.
Yes, when it comes to handling torque the 5 speed is stronger than the SST, but that doesn't mean the SST isn't strong either. I believe the SST is rated to handle around 400 until slippage and gear lockout begins. You have to remember for it's time (2007), the SST was very advanced and new technology for a mass produced vehicle. For what it is, it's an incredible transmission, performing shifts in milliseconds especially if it's been properly tuned to maximize it's potential. It has its faults sure, but to call it weak is ignorant.
I should also mention having a competent tuner and tune makes all the difference. I never made a video on it, but I ended up having ID1050x's, a larger fuel pump (can't remember the displacement), and a new tune installed on my Ralliart prior to selling it. It was making serious power, and even after selling it, the new owner (who happens to be the guy who tuned it), went over the tune again and made even more power. Throwing mods at a Ralliart or Evo with the SST will make it worse without having the proper tune to tie it all together.
@@torontotuners8218 Having a good tune is with any car. Like I said if you want to stay under 400hp, which is minor mods then it’s fine but again it’s not strong compared to the 5speed. My point still stands.
Thanks! The G37's are very nice as well, if I wanted AWD I would have for sure have got one instead. The 370Z and Ralliart are such polar opposites so it's definitely a change I'm still getting used to.
Yeah, I only had one GoPro at the time and I was going more for a reaction video than a lapping video. I'm not the greatest driver on track and I'm still learning, so I didn't really want to show a forward view of my garbage driving. I know what you mean though, I don't think I've seen anyone else drive a Ralliart on a road course.
That's high mileage for a Ralliart, if it has service records, go over them to make sure it has had regular SST fluid changes with OEM Diaqueen. Depending on the body condition as well, and if it has the leather Recaro seats, navigation, etc. I would say $8000 is what it is worth.
Bro nice car, I have one of my own here in Brazil. Nice piece of advise about the SSport and the warming up of the SST. Would you mind listing your mods and the links for it? Really liked what you done with your RA.
Thanks! Honestly, I had a mod list at one point and deleted it. Most notably was the BBK front and rear, stainless steel brake lines, lowering springs, full turbo back exhaust, upgraded fuel pump, upgraded injectors and a custom tune.
...springs? Look for springs that drop 1" or less for best suspension geometry. Most aftermarket springs will exercise the dampers at the upper end of their rated performance. If your dampers have a lot of miles/kms, might as well replace the dampers while you are in there. No need to do work twice. MachV and Whiteline are on my list for springs. To me coilovers are overkill and I'll never adjust them (or I'll want to adjust them constantly because something will always feel wrong)
I am going to make an another update video soon. SST is still going strong, I never understood why it gets so much hate. Such a brilliant transmission especially for the time it was available (2008 - 2015). Just do regular fluid changes with OEM fluid and it'll last forever.
Hey how’s the transmission doing?, I saw a 2010 with the automatic and it has 145k km, I like the car but I’ve seen so many people saying that the transmission shifts really good and everything but is very unreliable 😅😅
Transmission was better than ever, shifting good and hard (in a good way, it's been tuned) at 140,000km. Also it is not an automatic, it is a dual-clutch. As long as the transmission has a consistent service history and will continue to be serviced correctly it will last for a while.
