NBC actually led the news on Sunday night with this story and I remember commenting that was fast due to the fact his death was announced at 6 PM ET or 30 minutes before air time. CBS didn’t lead with it on the east coast because the Sunday news airs at 6 PM ET. Not sure how the west coast covered the story. CBS was able to air news that night as they only aired one NFL game.
Does anyone notice when tom switches as it starts raining the footage shows the car in first place? Theres one red light illuminated on the side of the car signifying its in 1st place
8:50 Spot-on, Robin. Bring back the Hanford Device! Those races that CART ran with it were awesome! You could do slingshot passes, just like NASCAR at Daytona and Talladega before restrictor plates ruined it. The cars weren’t bunched up in a pack like IRL racing on such tracks at the time, and passing was possible. What happened that day in Las Vegas was the result of a shitty aerodynamic package that didn’t place enough emphasis on the mechanical grip provided by the suspension in addition to the fact that there was too many cars for a track that size. Limit the field size, fix the aero package, and the outcome that day could’ve been very different.
This is a tribute to the hard boiled egg contest in the movie Cool Hand Luke. Interestingly, the music being played whilst Francis begins to eat the quacks is the theme from the movie, The Great Escape.
My 1999 Toyota 4Runner makes this sound from Park to Drive. Smooth from park to reverse to neutral, clucks at Drive. Then has a massive vibration at 50mph from the rear, when I let go off the gas pedal. Im thinking it could be the U-Jojnts ?
