This is my vlog of getting off the couch and getting outside, exploring nature and discovering something new. This is also my attempt to share my passion with others. Thank you for visiting my channel.
If you want the bears to know where you are just holler "I'm over here, I'm over here" LOL (laughing out loud ...no, Looking over Land.) Nice video and never saw a deer hunkered down looking like Hank when he is going to the bathroom!! Beautiful scenery, the camp looked fun and bear secure. Bacon was awesome, nothing compares to that smell when outside cooking. Made me want pancakes with sunny side up eggs on top and three strips of that bacon! I would love to do some trails if it were not for the walking :) Railfanning is right up my alley since we can drive to the crossings and yards. Mom got to video in the last two videos posted.
Benj, I sat and watched with a tearful eye, not sad tears but those of joy. I believe I can speak for mom and me that we are awestruck at not just the beauty on the video, but that you, Bitty, & P had an opportunity to make the trip and see the great wonders of the west. The 360 makes my butt clinch at the perspective on the trail up to inspiration point. Standing 10 feet from a 50 mph trains does the same thing. Makes me glad I can travel through the video to glimpse the grandeur of it all. I was also impressed you talked the boat captain into coming back and picking you up when you got the video of the boat leaving the loading area! :) Your vids are more interesting than big loud freight trains but doing what you like to do is the awesome part of adventure. Keep them coming and like the French Explorer was thinking, "The Big Tetons" are always a fav. Great video.
Dang, now ya got me all misty eyed at work! Yeah, the boat captain was all about the movie magic process 😉 I do love that we have these channels and that we can dip into each other’s lives in a way with each of these videos. Much love
Thanks for the video, now I don't have to hike out there where there are no train tracks. They say raw oysters will put lead in you pencil ... should have gotten the seven dozen oysters! We noticed Bitty didn't have a bag of snacks and munching along the trail walk.
@@BBWildBlue This we knew! Snack on the way, pre eat before the trail walk, during the walk, after the walk, on the way home! Lol It is awesome to see all the different places for real.
Actually, the scene with the baby alligator, we were actually taking a snack break and I do have footage of some snacks being eaten, I just didn’t post 😂
Well done, and thank you for a little walk back through my home stomping grounds. Grew up and lived about half my life in Tallahassee, and Wakulla Springs is one of my favorite places on earth. I'm now on the other side of the planet, and getting back home these days is getting more and more difficult, so thank you for this wonderful walk through a place -- and terrain -- that is part of my soul.
The fact is I kept waiting for the FUN FACTS ! Nice, you found Gilligan's Camp but no trace of Mary Ann, the professor or the Skipper. Maybe that was skipper pizza!!
Dad has to be honest and tell you that the conspiracy between a son and mother to deflect questions about the release date of this video was not obvious. Meaning, I can usually guess the Christmas gift by the gestures and verbiage. I have to hand it to you and your mom, y'all pulled this one off without me figuring out the deal. To drop this on Father's Day set the stage for emotion and almost caused us to be late for church. Benj you have skills in video editing. The real fun was it being candid and natural. No acting, just the way we really are. This was a special day to share time together, both doing what we love to do and who we love being with. The release of the vid and then having lunch with your younger brother on the same day made it a very special day for the old man! Love ya.
Beautiful country out there and I love the 360 cam. I didn't see any medical waste facilities, I only saw trees. No one has ever claimed I was anything more than a simple man, I'll give them that! Something touching though, to see your offspring going to places we were never able to go. It makes us feel more blessed to know you take these opportunities to share what you see for those who will never see them. Happy Trails and Happy birthday.
10:41 Thank you for those words of wisdom. This is a very strenuous hike on 'nice' days. It's deadly for even experienced hikers in the middle of hot days. Just had a person airlifted off of it on 5/13/2023 in critical condition. One of the regulars told me that he died but I can't find any news reports confirming. So be careful out there!
Oh no, That’s terrible news. Yeah, it can get away from you really quick. People need to heed the warning at the front of the trail. Need to take them seriously.
You were right when you said what you said about butt clinching! Awesome views and the 360 cam really does put the video several steps up from a regular video cam. I was sitting at the computer with the back of my legs burning. I couldn't help but notice the big cacti at 4:20 looks as if everyone gets the middle finger as they trek the trail. Camelback Mt for those who don't smoke Camels.
Me and mom watched both videos and I saw her drawing up in her chair. Part two is not as butt tightening as the part one except for sitting on the rock outcrops. The view where you could see through the rock crack was enough to clinch the cheeks. The stick gets edited out but the shadow still is seen, which is okay with me. I'm sure a drone may have wind issues on the top of the ridge. I forgot to say how cool to see the mules in the other part. Again, we are so glad you two got to see the sites while out west.
Thanks Benj for walking the trail for me. Never say never but me and mom will not worry about being a statistic going over the edge or being bitten by the varmints. I'm sure the trail is past my skill level so if do happen to make it out there one day, I'll take the view from the top. :) I'm really glad you both got the opportunity to see the canyon and experience the grand view. Nice video.
The mountain is considered a monadnock, survived weathering and remans higher than surrounding formation. Believed to be from a Native American Abenaki word meaning isolated hill. I love to watch other people hiking, I don't get tired that way. Nice adventure.
If mom ever retires, it would be nice to get the boat and kicker out again on the water like we did on the Wakulla River. As far as Blue Crabs go, I have six traps waiting to be baited and dropped in. Just remember 5 inches from point to point and put the females with eggs back in. The video is inspiring to get out and see the great outdoors. I'm not sure when you said "Daddy taught me well" exactly what you were referencing. I got to take a lesson about talking and narration, soon as I get a wide angle lens or it may take a fish eye lens, I can start putting my mug in the train vids. Good video!
I never think of going west, I always go South but that's some nice country to visit. It reminds me of Okefenokee but with Manatees. I'll definitely put that on my goto list!
Hey, I don’t know if you use this channel any more but I just discovered it and it’s great! I recently moved up to Tallahassee to go to FSU and seeing cool nature stuff to do around here is sick. I’m subscribed for if you ever do make another video, and I definitely would love to see more!
Hey hey! Sorry for the late late response. Thank you so much for subscribing. It’s been sometime but I have a couple of things in the works. Tallahassee and the surrounding area has so awesome stuff to do. If you haven’t been down to St Marks wildlife refuge yet, please go. The Florida scenic trail runs through it and there’s lots of places to walk and things to see. Side note: That’s where the Tallahassee author that wrote Annihilation, later a movie starring Natalie Portman, got his inspiration. Anyhow, hopefully I’ll have some new stuff up soon!
