It feels very incredible to find something like this after so many years. This is a piece of great history and my deep respect for the author continues to grow. Thanks for sharing!
I don't think his skating is effeminate. It takes incredible strength, energy and control. He's very balletic but effeminate? Yeah maybe if you can't tell the movements of ballerinos from those of ballerinas. I think it was his private life, his sexual orientation that they were picking on. I find Hanyu Yuzuru effeminate though. Graceful but so much more willowy.
Thku for this The Tay is my most favourite of all Scotlands Loch and River I've many many memories from today back to the 80s...love it T H A N K Y O U ..........💚💛💚💛💚💛💚
I dated a British ice dancer in the 80's..and ballet was very much a huge part of his skating training.. which was of course down to John Curry's positive influence on the sport, he raised the bar like no other.
I remember seeing John Curry skating in the summer of 1977. His ice show was at the Palladium Theater and one of his numbers was the legend of Icarus. His skating was so memorable.
Thank you, thank you, 100 times thank you for uploading these. This documentary influenced the course of y life, and I am so pleased to be able to watch the episodes again.
Dedication, determination of this wonderful dancer and skater is inspirational. I love how he went to work on his mental approach, when he was fearful of falling for a while, and overcame it. He had enormous courage and not so much ambition, but a calling. The dedication he gave to accomplish his artform and breaking through nerves is just extraordinary. RIP John Curry.
Greek religion preach that animals have no soul I bet Gerald wouldn’t like that. You never talk about your mother and brothers and sister. Or Spiros 🤷♀️
43 min pérennité....hmmm , hard to find a healer in Greece, very hard. The old ways of medecine have all but disappeared. The jabs sold well there, people won over by big pharma. Very sad.
I was enthralled by this superb documentary back in the day, and it's even more interesting to watch it again now, with a historical perspective. Thank you so much for uploading Near Miss, I've been been looking for a copy for years.
A favourite documentary ever, of a dear interest, closely held since back in time, so so so grand watching here, now THANKS SO MUCH! Dave Schoen ATC. New York ATC. Doesn't get better.
Hi Jane, that's correct. Sappho Durrell came along to the screening of this film when it was finished. There were only 5 or 6 of us at the screening. She was very quiet throughout and seemed shy. Her life had been troubled and after she died letters came to light that indicated that the relationship she had with her father had been particularly difficult - to put it mildly.
I'm absolutely confused. I keep expecting a Jim Henson's Muppet character to pop up but no. It's an old dude all up in these foreigners life being nosy.
