aim9m is still a shitter missle then the r73 and magic 2. Aim can always be flared its just smokeless so you have to look around a bit more. r73/ Mag2 within 1.5km can not be stopped literally nothing unless you smack the ground before it hits you.
the 9M literally ignores flares. dodging it requires flaring and instant movement. but the smokeless motor makes it a tough missile to see, the R73 only shrinks it’s fov, that means it can still see flares (same for magic)
ill put it simple. If you had an r73/ Mag 2 shot from within 1.5km you can literally can NOT do anything to stop it from smacking you. If you had 1000 flares and dumped then you'd still die. If you got shot with an aim9 at same distance you flare every .5 second and its seeker will remain off, but you need to change your aircraft flight path. Or do what i do and wait for it to get in close and dump "1" flare and turn hard any any other direction.
@@nothingisrealguys and yes the r73 and magic can still be flared if fired beyond 1.5km, but anything less then that and youre back to hanger in no time.
@@nothingisrealguys depends, its still lower G with no TV, sometimes it just simply doesnt pull hard enough, the jets i play have aim9m and id swap them for r73 any day of the week.
At least with the AIM-9M, there is a realistic chance of evasion with pre-flaring and positioning. The R-27ER, on the other hand, is virtually impossible to evade in most situations unless you're hugging the deck the entire time and running for your life any time a flanker or fulcrum shows up on RWR, and even then it's probably too late.
@@rotary495 Yeah, I know how Fox 1's and 2's work, Chief. This guy is complaining about a missile being broken in game and the 9M is a far less egregious example of this than the R27ER.
@@rotary495 true, but I kinda feel like that classifies as the aforementioned "running for your life when you see them," because you're not able to engage the Flanker/Fulcrum shooting it. Your only option when they're launched is concede the engagement. Also, notch works great for something like a Sparrow, because you can notch it and it'll stop tracking almost immediately after losing lock. With R27's, you can notch them for like, a full minute, and the minute you leave the notch position, it'll reacquire and start tracking again.
@@andrewjhollins bro the ER is so easy to defeat you just have have to know the basics of bvr defense and you’ll never get killed from a bvr ER missile again
@@hansohasashi5093welp, but chinese tree eventually got later j-11/j-16 which on par or even better than su-35, and have less plane to grind at the moment.
