Do you happen to know which 17mm hexes will work with the new Extreme HD stubs/axles? I was wondering if the older Revo VXL 17mm hubs would work as the had 6mm shafts stepped down
These are the ones Traxxas just announced for the EHD kit. Currently listed as a pre order item but we tried to cross reference it to Traxxas and they do not have it listed publicly on their website yet - www.hpd.ca/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1876_1888_1967&products_id=75407
Thank you for leaving a comment! The nice part now having a car is you have the option to drop in a brushless motor and esc from companies like Traxxas, Hobbywing, Castle and many others to increase the speed and performance of your new Rustler!!
The Reedy SC400 and Reedy SC480X can both run 2-3s LiPo batteries. Only thing with the Ecto is finding a 3s battery that fits the small battery tray. Usually we like the Gens Ace Adventure 3s shorty packs as they fit most small battery trays well
I remember when everyone would hate on Apple. "It's not a real computer," they would say, later ... "oh it's not a real music device" ... even later ... "oh that's not a real phone." Clearly EVERYONE came around and the vast majority of those people have an iPhone and maybe a Mac at home too. They have quite literally gone from nearly out of business to the most profitable company in human history because they stick to the consumers and prosumers. They mostly abandoned the true Pros to other companies. It's been a successful recipe. --- Traxxas makes fabulous products for beginners to intermediates (consumers and prosumers). If you want Pro stuff ... as you said there are plenty of other companies where you can make, build, whatever and drive Pro. Traxxas doesn't worry about the Pro market because 1. It's too small a market 2. with too many players trying to duke it out 3. Which means there's not a lot of money there. (exactly what Apple figured out) -- Traxxas is a strong company with lots of support at the Hobby Shop level because they generally play well with stores and they play extremely nicely with their customers. Their support line is phenomenal. --- While I have been a "Pro" RC person in the past ... as an older gentlemen with a young son Traxxas is brilliant. They have a wide range of cars/trucks for all types of purposes and they are ALL a lot of fun. Oh and when we break something ... it's a 5 minute trip to the store and a 5 minute fix and we are back to playing (that is if I don't already have the back up on the shelf). Anybody that bad mouths Traxxas is either a hypocrite or just doesn't understand the requirements around defending patents that all companies do (including Apple). Lastly, bad mouthing ANY RC company is just dumb. Everyone should rejoice in the amount of amazing choices we have in today's world. In the 1970's there was nearly nothing and it was all junk and we made it all with bubble gum and twist ties. In the 2020's we have it sooo good as RC hobbyists. -- Everyone just get along, stop the bad mouthing, use that time for running more battery packs. Have fun.
Looks pretty sweet. Seems like a bit of a learning curve, but not too bad. That steering angle sure helps I bet. Very nice. If they make a mini version, I'm all in. Haha
Thanks for the comment!! It is for sure a bit of a challenge at the beginning but once you get the hang of it and tune some of the gyro settings to make it a bit closer to your likings it is a heck of a lot of fun!! A mini version in the 1/18 or 1/24 scale would be so much fun and a great thing for basement / garage drifting all year around
With the Xray 1/8 buggy they do not include wheels unlike their 1/10 kits. Majority of 1/8 buggy and truggy kits do not include wheels anymore unfortunately. We left this out of the video to stay away from the great debate of yellow vs white wheels and how they are very track and temperature dependent
We think we would have to give the slight edge to the Team Associated / Yokomo. As this car did win both Yokomo and AE many many races and really pushed forward with the 4wd buggy class. The Kyosho was an amazing car as well but hard to compete with a dual threat like AE and Yokomo
@@ultrarchobbies I was thinking the same thing, plus I am hoping there will be more available hop-up parts for the YZ-10….i hope Yokomo and AE parts will be interchangeable
@@ultrarchobbies So make a video of how it drives. Because I would be interested. But I already know that the car will not impress me except for the bodywork. Well, it doesn't matter a thousand people, a thousand tastes
The red is for sure our favorite colour as well, we are super excited to go and have some fun with the new Mustang and really test the new TQi and gyro system out
I will not recommend this boat, bought it run it, water leak from the flood chambers , between rubber gourmet and flex shaft and water jacket , proboat sonicwake 36 v2 way better than spartan SR
This Chevy K5 is beautiful. I only just got on 18 july a Ford F150 high trail metallic brown. Ive run it only 2 times. Now im loving this Chevy even more. Its beautiful. I might have to save up for this too. Great video to , im subscribed now.
Xray makes some of the finest RCs on the market. The only thing I dislike about this kit is the use of pivot balls. Never liked those anywhere, be it on a basher or racer. The moment the upper control arm has the slightest play, the steering gets completely inprecise and you can swap them out. Would rather like to see a C hub design.
Thanks for the comment! C hub vs pivot ball is always the great debate and we do not disagree the pivot ball is a bit more sloppy in the sense of moving parts and trying to keep them from packing up with debris and locking solid. But the best part with Xray is that they at least offer a C Hub conversion kit to match the XT8 truggy platform that still runs the C Hub design. All of the other manufacturers do not give you the option to bounce back and forth between C Hub and pivot ball with the same chassis, which in our opinion is a huge win!!
Thank you for the comment, you are correct using the term captured on our end was incorrect as they are not captured by a nut. The Proline or STRC upgrade is for sure captured. What we were trying to say is that the pin connected on both outside points of the arm to take away flex compared to the old style design that sat in the middle of the arm
its sad that they put the nicer looking bodies on the brushed models 😅 it’s the same pattern that was on the vxl i believe but the pink one looks so good
We think you are bang on! The brushed models have a bit more of a vibrant and high impact scheme! The pink is by far the colour we are most interested in seeing in person! Thanks for the comment and tuning in
Is week with 2s with those big tires there not G60 tires it needs 3s medium power. A real IMCA modified A mod or X mod have only; G60 tiers on them those Hoosiers to wide of tires. The bodies are on the money for sure nice not one complaint 👊🏼 respect Traxxas on that one fix the tires and up the engine option for 3S and 4S for the big tire class like it comes with factory one's.
The BL-2S does leave a little to be desired, but at least it isn't a 12T Titan and XL-5. It will be interesting to see how some clubs will work these models into the race rotation and allow big power to them
This is a very similar scaling issue we find with the 1/10 short course trucks as well. They look very large in comparison to most 1/10 models and with the Rally using a Slash 4x4 LCG chassis it is quite a large platform
Are the internals capable of upgraded parts? The rear end should be a floating 4 link. Would make it more realistic and way more adjustable to get the car to rotate in the corners. Plus it would make the car carry the left front in corners. Which just looks cool.
You can for sure upgrade some drive line components like driveshafts from many different companies like MIP and Traxxas. The electronics can be upgraded to a different motor and esc combo with the possibility of upgrading to something sensored to run in a specific class, servos can be upgrade as well as radio system. Our best advice we can give is look for a local racing class and see what they offer for classes and update accordingly for what class you want to run
@ultrarchobbies unfortunately where I live we don't have anything local going on. I have multiple friends interested in circle dirt track racing. Pretty sure no one up north where I live knows what an imca modified is haha!
@@ultrarchobbiesI was talking to some friends. Told them I wanted to build 4 or 5 tracks in town in different locations all real tracks to scale and have a season. Keep them stock other than tire grooving and shock weights. They think they will be to slow to enjoy. Any suggestions?
This is always a the hard part about getting over the stigma of stock racing with it being slow. That being said it is always easier to get new people in when the car and battery are the main investment to go have fun and come and try it. When you start forcing people to buy the car and battery and then tell them they need to spend anywhere from $200 - $500 in upgrades that replaces most of the factory components it makes it much harder to grow to new enthusiasts. Many places we have looked into have put a true spec class together for this car and seem to be having good success getting new people to come out and play. Some offer pinion ranges depending on the size of the track, some are keeping it very stock other then radio and receiver changes (which can be a very costly upgrade depending on what you go with) and then allowing tuning with shock oil. There are many ways to police it but the biggest thing to get people hyped will be getting a car and track setup that people can come and have fun and see what the car will do, the rest tends to take care of itself
i'll have mine in a couple days same color I'll let you know what I think I'm probably the biggest stampede fan in history, will know right away if it's the real deal until Traxxas includes speed sensor in the Bluetooth it's a complete waste of money. just buy this truck with a battery adapter so you don't have to use Traxxas batteries and you'll be good to go. as far as the graphics there's two for adults and two for children the gunmetal dark ones are intended for adults. red is better than blue so I bought the red one but it's really gray red and black i'm not gonna lie the graphics options for these trucks suck but other than that...awesome truck hoss failed cos dumb name even by RC standards, which are low
We agree 100% this truck should have been what was released 4 years ago as a updated Stampede and possible with the name Stampede 2.0 to save some confusion within the lineup. The new gun metal colours are super nice outside in the sun and really have another level of detail for a rtr body
We have been following a couple Facebook pages that run the original "mud boss" factory class and talk general setup for rc dirt oval cars which seems to be pretty solid information. Until we get the Mud Boss out to more people June 21st would be hard to say the exact things to do for this car
Just ordered mine today cant git it till friday but i was shooting for pink but thay did not have them in stock so i went with the green but i feel any color you get is going to look good
We feel the same about all of the colours!! With the addition of the GTR shocks colour matching the body is just a small thing that takes it over the top in our opinion! Enjoy your new car!
Thanks for the question - 1c would be charging at 5amp as you would be converting the mah (5000) into an amp hour number. I’m our recommendation we always suggest to balance charge at 1c for maximum life out of any battery
just curious is the clip less body worth it? i have a ultimate and the body rubs on the wheels every time i make a fast sharp turn. if this is the only “upgrade” then i want the old clip style one
We have had very mixed reviews on the clipless body mounting system, this system doesn't seem to fall off on hard landings like previous models of the clipless from Traxxas. But the one large complaint if you are running in lots of mud is that you have to reach in fairly far under the body to get to the clipless latches and they pack up with mud which can make them a bit tricky to get off. It seems like the bodies sit at a very similar height of the clipless bodies so you probably won't gain to much for the body not to rub
Thanks for leaving a comment! The new updates are nice to keep the platform current with the other models in the 4x4 VXL lineup, but you're correct nothing to major changed.
