Thanks. I have a 98 Buick Century and it's sputtering frequently. The fuel filter has been replaced, spark plugs and wires. 2 coil packs. Cannister purge valve. And new crank shaft sensor. Cpl of these threw codes. I'm praying to replace that regulator, and hopefully fix my issue. You did a great job teaching how to go through it. Thanks!!
Great video I watched this and replaced my water pump. I have no leaking the question I have is how do I know if the clutch fan is on tight enough. I didn’t have to wack it with a hammer or nothing to remove with the tools I rented and saw on forum that the clutch tightens itself but idk how true that is and didn’t want to have a horrible wreck because it came off. The fan turns a lil when I spin it but doesn’t turn a whole 360 by hand and the water pump pulley doesn’t move. I didn’t have torque wrench so I’m just a lil worried if it’s isn’t tight enough it will come off while I’m driving. Your video was great help I just marked the bolts on old pump so I knew where to put certain ones. I drove truck 75 mph on freeway with drove good
I usually buy Valvoline Full Synth. But it was $29 at Walmart now unfortunately. I ended up getting the SuperTech High Mileage FS for $19. Changing mine this weekend let’s see how it does!
Thank you for making a video bro but keeping it honest this don’t help. Re do it and show us if they can’t get it after that then oh well. But we have no clue at all how it’s supposed to look as we are doing it.
Getting ready to refresh my 5.3 and cam swap it. There's tonnes of cam swap video but nobody has a detailed informative video on the valve springs, Which was my biggest worry. Amazing video thanks brother cheers 🍻
Great Vid, the only thing I'd recommend is taking the larger part of the filter cover off (just 1 bolt under that V6 plate. Makes it easier to get to the filter. Also 15/16th socket for the air filter. 1/2" for the oil pan nut. Thanks!
Just picked one up yesterday for cheap went around fine yesterday for a couple hours besides a bit of a rough idle and the lagging start but started fine after work went out today stalled 3 times within a 20 minute trip so I’m definitely going to start With the regulator
I really liked this video. The video quality was great to see all the internals of the 4T65-E. GM updated that webbed "lube tube" which I've been wanting to see before I went in and did this same job on a 2005 LeSabre I just bought with 32K miles. I'm glad to see the "brass" collar come out as others stuggle with that thing. GM also updated more and stronger magnets which I ordered and I have a new GM filter and gasket (which I may save til next time as I have the factory original in place now and is reusable). I'm going to use the Dexron VI and I also bought a new transmission pan that has a drain plug. I think I'll put a magnetic drain plug replacement in it as well as the metal material that gets attached to a regular magnet is not capable of retaining the volume of material shed and GM warns that other areas may fail if no magnet update. I think it's a TSB announcement for that. Thanks for your video. Well done and excellent quality and narration! I'm locking this in as a favorite and will like and subscribe!
Whenever you assembled the engine it should have been set a tdc then you just toss the push rods in make sure there seated then toss on the rocker arms your good to go
My 02 buick only had 40,000miles. Transmission messed up, intake gasket at 60,000 miles. Transmission started jerking again at 60,000. They are none for transmission issues, heads gaskey, intake gasket.
When torquing down the rocker arms on the second pass what does turning the engine over 360 degrees accomplish? Is that just decompressing the valve springs so you can torque down the rocker arm with no tension on it?
Man you have a great video on explaining this. The only part I’m still not 100% on is the reinstallation process of the rocker arms. So if I understand this right. I want to only torque down the rocker arms that have no tension on them AKA the valve spring is not compressed any and is fully up? Then rotate the engine over to decompress the other valve springs and then torque down those rocker arms?
I have an 04 buick century and the pressure line is leaking through a pinhole in the rubber part of the line.I got the part today and plan on fixing ole Goldie up tomorrow. This video was a great help and I appreciate you taking the time to really explain the process. Thanks again..
08:23 how it was pulsing how did you get it to stop? the guy I got it from said maybe adjusting the throttle cable. Also near the steering wheel is 2 yellow wires connected to 1 connector and 2 black wires connected to a connector that go to a sensor that is for getting the mower blades to turn. do you know what sensor that is or part number?
You saved me a bunch of money and head ache. My car was doing the exact same thing and this completely fixed it. Thank you! My local mechanic was stumped
