Thanks for the very descriptive steps, I followed it and also had success with my switches. The total time it took to research and learn how to remove from the assembly from my Hyundai, disassemble, clean, reassemble, test and clean up tools took 1 hour. Without your video I would have broken something and taken far longer.
same exact switch that i needed followed the steps took me only 10 minutes for the months i had been struggling to move my seat back. definitely saved me money on the whole “fix/repair” prices that places offer. gained two new followers! not all heroes wear capes 😎🤯
Thank you so much for making this video. Dealership wanted $1500 to replace the whole switch. This took me maybe 20 mins to do. Just took a cotton swab and cleaned the contacts. No more being stuck awkwardly forward 😂
Thank you so much for this, the seat was full reclined in my wife's car and it was unsafe to drive. I fixed it with this video. Take pictures as you disassemble so you know which way the contacts go etc. Also a small dab of grease is essential to get the balls to stick where they need to be.
Nice explanation and video. What is the life of Figos carbon brush ( approx) ? In years or kilometres Do you recommend preventive maintenance before any problem occurs Sir.? Like greasing or changing brushes Or let it run till any abnormal sound comes. Is this Bosch starter?
A sterter motor has a life for minimum 7 to 8 years. This is according to the use of the starter motor. A starter motor is using for starting only. after started the starter motor stay still and it is not working always. so the life of the starter motor is more than any other parts in a car.
May each and every individual involved in the making of this video have 10 fold happen upon them as to what you have helped me accomplish. Truly. I had been searching for the right answers. So many videos with bolts of seat removed… I’d been driving uncomfortably for months due to the recline function (1 direction only) not working. It was more difficult to get in/out, reach for seat belt, leg room issues…etc My gratitude 🙏 is overwhelmed with happiness and joy! Namo Himalaya
I removed panel, removed switch box. Opened switch box, then opened smaller exact switch box inside that. In that exact box I cleaned the connectors ( rubbed black off (carbon buildup), lightly stretched the springs and put petroleum jelly on connectors.
Thank you so much for this information! I followed the same steps for my brother in law's 2019 Hyundai Tucson passenger seat recliner and it worked, effortlessly. Saved a lot of money, God bless you.
There is resistor which control the speed of the blower motor which is fitted on the evaporator housing. Most probably the problem will be solved after changing this piece of part. If this part is ok, then you should check the speed control switch.
Thanks a million! Took no time at all to repair the front/passenger recliner switch of a 2014 Santa Fe...the seat was all the way back and couldn't get it forward. Didn't need to take the seat out like others noted. Took an hour total time - could probably do it in 30 minutes if I had to do it again....my only parting thought is how the contacts got so oxidized....I guess some good arcing is going on in the switch....
Like others noted it is not nessecery to remove the seat completly to do the work. But to understand the mechanism also. I am very much happy to know that too many people repaired their seat switch with watching my video. Yes every time while using the switch the contacts are getting heated up and got oxidised. that is why. Now these days using relay to reduce the loads to these switches.
Just done this on another santa fe. Another £250 saved. Thanks alot. Videos like this inspire me with our throwaway culture in the west Again I emphasise the use of petroleum jelly on the ball bearing to secure them to the springs for a easy life

Thank you for posting this video. You saved me so much money. The ball bearing was the hardest part to put back in, but I had my wife help me hold down the white thing with the ball bearing while I clipped the black thing back onto the circuit board.
I am very much happy to know that plenty of people using my video to repair these switches themself. there are too many types of switches comming in new model cars. will post more. thanks.
If the switch is the problem, then if you do like this it will work. Before you spit the switch for repair, check the motor for working condition. If the motor itself is the problem then it will not work.
Amazing video worked perfectly for me. I just used petroleum jelly to hold the ball bearings in place and it worked perfect. Took about 45mins in total and saved me about £140 for a switch Thanks
