It's kind of sad how disability is so prominently viewed as a reason to involve and promote technology, to have people not only work through it, but be manipulated so that someone else is using it through them, which is the opposite of what is openly presented to others. There is a very wide range of ability in down syndrome, and because Carr was so able, he was just the right guy to help in painting what was just the right picture to help those involved in producing this video to put Down Syndrome in just the idealistic light they wanted to. It makes down syndrome as a whole seem great, like it's nothing to worry about at all, but it's not representative. People do this to promote autism all the time.

Don't give up! I am a very fortunate man.. My significant partner is a great person! She works hard and never lets anything .slow her down... She has never let CP stop her. It is hard to find just the right one but it can and does happen.
yes, us too. we think the dynavox meastro is a great device. not just for non verbal people or children but also great for adults who are verbal but find it hard to get their words out. we both have moderate verbal autism and we find the dynavox meastro very useful. evan in 2022.
Nick, I am sorry to hear about your father. My mother lived with ALS for 10 years before she passed away last week. She was in a very similar physical condition as Augie was for most of her battle. I understand the pain that this disease causes to its victim and their family. My prayers are with you. Make the most of the time you have with your Father. If Augie has taught us anything is that life can go on despite ALS. I realize now what a gift my mothers last years were to our family. One day we will see this illness beat.
+Tobii dynavox I just ordered myself the "blue Chew Stixx" I already have TMJ I grind my teeth in my sleep, or whenever I'm Worried, scared, or anxious. it's not a good habit to have. i know that so I'm hoping that using this Chew Stixx does help me. and it also makes a great hand Fidget for sensory, tactile input for those who need it.
I used to know a handicapped girl in high school. I'm not sure what problem she had but she was in a wheelchair and had speech problems but she could talk. She seemed like a good person and we got along good so I asked to a date. About a week later, I was at home when we were on the phone. Her mother came home and started accusing me of trying to "having sex with the handicapped girl". She also said a bunch of other things that weren't true or didn't happen. I don't know about other parents in Sinatra situations but chill. Your children are growing up and have normal feelings. She may have been handicapped but that didn't mean that her mom needed to imprison her. I was a kid going out with a girl. That doesn't make me a rapist or a pervert. Megan , a lot of boys are thinking the samethings that I went through and don't want the same. I gaurantee you that a lot of boys have noticed you since you're a pretty girl.
