Bullshit that it's affordable. Well maybe for an upper middle class Yank or Brit. But because of these "cosmopolitan” people and investors the prices have been skyrocketing leaving local people homeless!!! So there won't be too much of that authentic culture anymore.
Seems beautiful to visit but not live, only a handful or two of restaurants, no real shopping, you got to be able to drive to other towns to do any real shopping,, like 1/2 hour to Setubal or an hour to Lisbon. All the other surrounding towns have little..
Comporta is a natural place .... If the so called " new developments start to arrive all that natural beauty will be gone for ever... Exemple: Why should people build those HUGLY block houses made out of glass and metal contrary to the original Alentejo homes?? Those homes destroy and alternate de beauty imediatly... another exemple: Do we need golf ⛳ courses in Comporta?? No. Golfing is not even a Portuguese form of entertainment...it came from England?? or Scotland?? Why do we need to imitate other countries?? Playing the Mallha game , fishing, swimming, cooking, horse 🐴 back ride walking trails, bird 🐦 watching, are the main natural activities in Comporta for I should say centuries.... Plus golf courses are consuming the space, the water, and the demolition of trees . And we don't need that either.... Turists are most welcome to come and spend time... After that please go home...and don't bring us different habits. Thank you.
Lovely. I’m confused about the creation of Comporta by a family. Is it a town or a development? Are there mosquitoes since there are rice Pattie’s nearby? How long does it take to get to a hospital if you have a medical emergency?
