Did you know, 3 out of 5 people will become an unpaid carer?
Anyone can be a carer, an 85-year-old husband caring for his wife with Dementia, an 18-year-old looking after her Mum with a long-term illness or a young person looking after a parent with an alcohol problem. For some caring has always been part of their life, for many it evolves over time and for others they are suddenly thrown into a caring role.
No matter what your caring circumstance, Carers Support West Sussex are here to offer you guidance and practical and emotional support.

Just listened Chris Thorps experience and it makes me feel a bit selfish. My wife wa diagnosed with altzheimers three year or so ago I am knocking on the door of 90 but very happy to become a full time carer., Prior to this I ran an environmental field centre for a London university but decided on early retirement. At that time we both had broad ranging interests and hobbies. My situation now is totally a carer. Yes I have my down days but happy that I can take care of my wife as she sinks into forgetfulness and total reliance on me. I celebrate 66 years.of happy marriage .
