The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization bringing relief to communities around the world who suffer needlessly from a lack of access to clean water and proper sanitation.
Hello, there I wish 1 day be able to travel with you guys so I can learn more how you help. Your help is amazing I grow up this way too I run away of my famaly of my only 11 years old because I loved school but have no support. God bless you all!!!!!
they should have fed them free peanuts and dry foods like Wheaties without milk and then made the theatre super hot and kept them in there for 5 hours saying there was a situation outside and they needed to stay put until is was over and then played that video...
This reminds me of when one of our teachers in high school showed every1 this: i.ytimg.com/vi/-X_CS8a98Ks/hqdefault.jpg in assembly, and a few people laughed, then he flicked to a picture of starving children and shouted "IT'S NOT FUNNY, THERE ARE STARVING CHILDREN IN AFRICA!"
God bless you guys! Its such amazing to discover there are people like you all doing this great job. Its inspiring! Caring about others human beings. Im really glad for seeing all these videos of the Water project. 👏👏
Are these things really necessary? If I'd been on those people's place, I'd cringe all over the place. We ALL know what's happening out there. If people don't want to help it's because they don't want to, and if they do, it's because they want to. Simple. Now, I'm not being insensitive, but seriously, to me this is like reminding people not to kill, like, give all those people a little sting with a pin or something and then a video pops out: "That hurt quite a bit didn't it? Then imagine all these people who are murdered everyday. Watch out. Don't beat. Don't hurt. Don't murder." Hurrr Durrr Well this is just my point of view, I find all these campaingns useless because we are in the freaking 21st century: EVERYONE is aware of all this shit, so why waste resources trying to wake more people up if it won't help? Just give those fkin water bottles to those kids instead -_-
"emotions" ready to be processed, packaged and sold or in this case shown in theatres just to make people cry a little and forget it as soon as the movie stars, how the hell it helps?
+Rockyfrijolito it doesn't matter who's fault is it. We can't depend on them to help those poor people. Don't you have a heart? It's not all about money
+Rockyfrijolito They did NOT ask you to donate any money in-here. This isn't a fund-raising campaign, it's for sensibilisation. They are making people aware, and feel what others are feeling. Some people would do their best to make a difference, some others (like yourself) will accuse the video of manipulating, to exonerate their conscious from guilt.
+Fares Belkhiria just because it feels like you're choosing to help doesn't mean you weren't manipulated. there is no such thing as altruism. everything everyone does is selfish. to an extent.
I kind of see what you were trying to achieve with this, but it just doesn't work for three reasons: 1. Not everyone in that movie theatre tried to open their water bottle before the ad began. 2. If I had been in that situation, I wouldn't have got frustrated. Not being able to open a water bottle isn't enough reason for that (and seeing other people having the same problem would've even made it kind of funny). 3. In real life, you will never find a water bottle impossible to open. This is a completely artificial scenario. This should've been about something that actually happens to us in everyday life in order for it to have an impact.
I'd like to help and donate to this kind of stuff.. but I don't trust this organizations. I always think that the majority of the money is to help the guy who had the idea to be more fat. :(
What should I do? Send my water for africa? They will talk now that the blame for they are short of water is mine? I have to feel bad now? I have a million problems at work, at home still have to feel bad for the rest of the world? I have to live thinking about how the world is falling apart now and accumulate all this with my own problems? There is lack of empathy from me, just want to know what you expect me to do by the lack of safe drinking water to children across the world, I 'm just a normal citizen without much money fighting to keep my family and have a little happiness in the midst of so much bad thing.
Actually if you enlarge the picture, you will see people using cell phones at the very beginning (seconds 10-13 maybe), plus there are drinks in the cup holders. I agree with you SpaceHawk but the big companies don't care, so we have to start somewhere - with bringing the situation to the attention of people who might think about this differently (I don't actually have much hope, however).
They make us feel bad so we help, but governments and corporations should be the ones to deal with the problem, but they don't give a shit, they are the problem, they polute the planet, kill people and wildlife just for profit... They don't give a damn about people, money, money, money, that's all they want... And some really smart people are more worried by the fact that nobody is using their phones....pfffffffffffffff......
Providence: The message is -- "If in the future, we try to sell you water, you better be thankful for it because you don't have to go through all of this to get your silly water."
lets make aware that kids dont have any water in africa by giving water to people that can afford, why not give the water to african kids instead?, these campaigns cost millions that could be used to directly give the water to the ones who need
