Issue is Fisker Karma had a non cloud based scan tool. The Ocean requires 3rd party FAST certificates and is far more dependent on the scan tool than the Karma. Any time even the 12v battery is replaced it requires the scan tool to re-calibrate or many of the features are locked out. This is a major flaw/issue for these vehicles and a main reason why they will be orphaned- unlike the Fisker Karma.
The discount is only on 2023 models. I didn't find any 25k versions. Most dealerships offer discounts on previous year models, albeit with full warranty.
The company is going bankrupt, and henrik needs to go back to a salaried job. This is his second time trying to make this work. It's a mess. Next on the chopping block is lucid and polestar. Then Rivian. It's am impossible time to try and make a car company work. Interest rates are too high. [appreciate the video, the AC unit in the audio is a bit distracting]
Why in hell would you want to buy a car whose spare parts are not going to be there in a year's time since the company that's selling the car is definitely going bankrupt?? Wait till when??
You buy a German luxury car and it'll be paper weight with in 5-10 years. It'll lose so much of it's value and if it breaks, it will cost more than the car worth, so if you can buy a fisker for cheap, it's well worth it for a new luxury car.
So many people give cars the same amount of research as toasters at Walmart. They buy the one with the pretty color and doesn't look like their neighbor's cars, company be da*ned.
@mehrshadvr4 it's a new luxury car that's broken from the start, that's the problem. Otherwise they wouldn't be having the issues they're dealing with right now (mostly... the whole LOSING PEOPLES' CHECKS thing didn't really help, either.
I agree generally with your thinking. I think your blue line is too positive and your red line should be flat and not positive later on. I think Fisker is headed for Chapter 7 fast. Once they sell all of the cars, they are done. Magna is not going to build more Oceans. Fisker is toast and they know it.
I talk about FCEV a good deal, yet people are still treating it like they treated Tesla a number of years ago. Have you been keeping up with atmospheric Hydrogen on demand? That will be a major game changer when Hydrogen does not need to be stored in tanks! Really enjoyed the interview.
Since the Bolt disqualified for not being available, ID4 should disqualify too yet. So far then Kona is the best cheapest then. Can't wait to get my Kona64 order. :)
I enjoy watching your videos. Have you driven a Kia Niro EV? I've had one for almost 2 years and the ride quality and standard safety features plus a 240 miles range easy makes it a great daily ride. Rated number 1 by owners of non premium EV.
I unfortunately haven’t driven that yet, but hope to soon! I like it better than the Kona EV due to its size, but it does cost $39,900 here in the US now making it a bit more than the Kona. However, it does have many more premium features!
That really doesn’t say much about it’s handling in the snow. The roads were plowed. Any car with good tires could have done the same. Can you take it on a road that has at least 4 inches of snow on it? Thanks
I recorded the drive up to the mountain, but then my mount broke as the roads were getting very bumpy. I wrote how it handled deeper snow in the article.
Yeah, I'll try once I'm back from college again. Very hard to time snow in North Carolina. I did take it on much snowier roads (wrote about it in the article), but my camera mount broke due to the stiff suspension and snow.
Thank you for the interview. Very excited for this car. How cool that the shell of the car is biodegradable. I hope them all the best. i have mine on pre-order.
I am excited by the prospects of this vehicle and the company in general. I am happy to be an investor and have a reservation. The specs are excellent. I would love to see o model at the LA car show. Sandy Monroe’s involvement was the convincing factor for me. The guy is a world class automotive engineer and runs one of the best consulting and research firms in the USA. Monroe is not only highly involved with setting up the production he is also an investor. Go APTERA!
You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.... Buckminster Fuller. Aptera is just that. Great interview.
lol at 36:15 he really wants to people to just buy a tesla over this?? if they are the same price people would just go for the 4 wheel car haha as it is its pretty pricey for a car for normal people to get. you wont save that much money with this car over a reg gas car or a cheap tesla. i could get a nice reliable toyota for less then 19k haha and this turd wants them to be 90K???
You don't seem to understand what this vehicle offers. It uses less than half the power of of Tesla model 3 to go the same distance at the same speed. At a speed of 80 mph, which is more likely on long trips, the range difference will be even greater. For a couple, why would we choose to spend more money at charging stations and wait twice as long to gain the same range increase? If our daily driving needs are modest, with full solar, we won't even have to do that. The cabin is likely to be quieter. The 90 K number was given for marketing as a status symbol, which is what Tesla did with their Roadster offering.
@@n.brucenelson5920 you dont seem to understand what i said...i wouldnt pay the 90k for it....these 1% snowflakes want everything to be high priced so they can feel special. but that said yes i would like to buy the reasonable priced 30k one not a 50k plus car
@@raymondluca7779 Sorry, I think we are on the same page, then. I am willing to pay a bit more to save a bunch in time and charging costs over the years of ownership. To me, efficiency is almost equivalent to value.
Amazing conversation. So good for the planet... Personally, I’m not interested in “standing out”, rather love the idea of embracing outstanding and ultra efficiently design in an automobile. That’s why I have reserved this car. I want my grandson to own it someday. Thank you for your amazing creativity .
@WolfsburgWarehouse et al, Would the added cost, complexity, & weight of tilt tech justify the possible g-loading safety benefits? I.e., At max speeds, how much more steering angle could be tolerated before inducing rollover? With 2 or 3 wheel torque vectoring? TIA
@@WolfsburgWarehouse Thx. I'm basically trying to find out steering angles & speeds that would induce flips. Mainly to program s/w to increasingly dampen steering inputs as max angles are approached, according to speed & road conditions (i.e., implied slip angles & expected G loads). TIAFYH
Aptera is the car that Apple should have come up with, this is like Jobsian reality distorsion, right? If it becomes street legal in Europe, it is my no 1 choice, supercharge over 1500 km in a couple of hours, and off we go to Spain, drive for free on solar energy in the city, wow.
Nathan Armstrong, a motorcycle leans the rear wheel for camber thrust, AWS does the same without the lean, both are a centripetal force. Just put a scooter fork on the rear, operated by a servo connected to the controller. The additional steering unit provides camber, caster, toe at the rear wheel. For grip. Works like Honda 4WS.
Arcimoto has reached an agreement to buy Tilting Motor Works for approximately $10 million. Tilting Motor Works developed the TRiO, which is one of the most popular three-wheel conversion kits for touring motorcycles. The tilting technology at the heart of the TRiO kit allows riders to lean naturally into turns, making three-wheelers handle more closely to conventional two-wheeled motorcycles.
This has encouraged me. I have an prereservation in, and hope also to be able to invest in Aptera.I have also invested in Tesla and have a prereservation for a Cypertruck. Will be interesting to see which delivers first Aptera or Cypertruck. Plan on both being the last vehicles of my life.
