Well, now in 2024, it seems that at least the face tracker isnt available to get anymore X D so the support with upgrade stuff like it has run out? Seems a bit odd, that it is already "left behind" or something. At least you can get the body trackers I guess. I have bought the vive pro 2 a week ago. No, I dont miss the face tracker. Still sad. It is a bit underwhelming so far, but also I dont have that big of room space ^^ The power-cable for the link-box is pretty darn short. Way shorter than the cable for the base stations. So far it is nice to get a foot into vr stuff, learning a bit how it works, having fun with it : )
So weird to see us back in "the day" after all these years. Good times. Philip's a great guy & HF was a tremendous platform... while it was. I honestly think he was aiming in all the right directions but gave up on it a bit too soon, particularly considering that he was trying to build remote work places/spaces/alternatives for both VR/desktop that were perfectly viable, but then folded *just* before the pandemic hit & would have made more sense to the world at large. Way it goes, I suppose. Anyway, was weird, as I said, to see all of us having so much fun back when such fun was to be had. It all comes with a cost, and HF as a company had to do what it thought best for it's own survival. I wish them the best in what they're doing, and I still keep up with the offshoots of the original platform (Vircadia/Overte), but I'm spread thin across a lot of multiverses of late - there's plenty of ether out there, eh?
ever heard of this pretty important thing in vr called tracking did you sell youre soul to htc and if i see it right youre not even using footage of the cosmos elite that youre talking about most of the time overall youre showing the wrong headsets in the video almost every time you talk about one
DO NOT BY THIS there is a thermal issue with the headset that will eventually destroy the optics. i got 2 years out of mine after reading forums on how to prevent damage to the optics however it only delays when the optics will fail (and your 12 month warenty will be up) if you dont believe this comment a quick google search will show you the vast amount of people who have had this issue and unlike the previous vives you cannot seem to purchase a replacement display and fix it yourself.
"is it better than the pico 4 or the meta quest pro?" I fail to see that sentence making any sense, since you're asking if the software intended to run in these devices is better than the devices somehow?
I'm really interested in the vive pro 2 but the controllers... does anyone know of any other controllers (other than the valve index controllers) that are compatible???
Xr will be a massive field umbrella terming Ar Vr Mr into xr etc etc into showcasing all reality based experience’s much like the x games x factor xr just looks cool
They talk about professional settings, but I can't get my hands on a demonstration of text clarity on the headset, and if it is good enough for text heavy work like programming. There are no stores where I could check it myself since it is not promoted in the commercial space. I live in Europe and buying a Quest Pro headset would set me back 2100€ (with accessories) and I would be willing to buy it, if I could only establish beforehand that it will work with the tasks that I need it for. I'm sick of all youtubers just covering the headset for gaming. I don't care about gaming, my Quest 2 does it good enough. I need to be able to read 2 monitors next to each other for productive work.
a) Quest 2 Price point b) the fact Quest 2 is stand alone, c) the fact it does not require PS5 ownership, d) availability, i.e, it is out now and actually available for purchase, e) install user base already in place on Quest 2. ^ THAT means, no, PSVR2 is NOT killing the Quest 2.
@@liquid1514 - What makes you think I am not calm? Maybe your point was for someone else. P.S I'm a former senior games designer and senior producer from the games industry. I used to work for a few small companies, like Eidos and errr Sony. Maybe you haven't heard of them though...
@@s3rv3r3rror8 a real VR enthousiast would buy a PC to have a good library of VR games. PSVR2 only have some few good games and most of them are games you can find on steam or even on meta. If that´s not enough you have a lot of mods of flat games to play them in VR and a modder is releasing this year a software that convert any Unreal Engine 4 or 5 game into a VR game. By the way, meta quest 2 has almost 3 years, in some months meta quest 3 is released and in 7 days is the meta gaming showcase where meta is going to announce a lot of games, not like sony who only announced 3 games (non exclusive games btw)
Question. Which port does the PSVR2 plug into? Does it plug into the USBC port on the front of the PS5? Or the USB port. I assume it plugs into the USBC. I hope so, since the USB is used for wireless headset dongles. Also, this is a stupid "review".
How are you able to review a product you have never used? Gotta get those clicks and that Ad money some how, and hey, why not just trick people into watching garbage? Good job.
The text ghosting you saw is a result of the game actually running at 60fps, despite being displayed at 90hz or 120hz, with some VR interpolation shennanigans thrown in to make it appear smoother. It's a game-related thing, not a headset related thing ;)
I would be fine with paying 550 if it could run on PC. Unfortunately though it's not officially supported, so I just bought a Quest 2 for $350 with RE4 VR.
It'll be up and running on PC fairly quickly. Might take a few months tops. Even the PSVR1, which is a completely 'alien' type VR system compared to anything on PC can be made to work, despite its very obvious flaws. This one has a simple connection, 'logical' controllers and bindings and a USB-C/HDMI cable. It'll be relatively simple for modders/hackers to get it working, unless Sony actively has counter-measures in place.
@@muttmcdog4308 Yeah, if Sony made it fully compatible with PC out of the box, the price would be easier to swallow. I also thought it was kind of dumb that original PSVR games won't work on PSVR2.
It looks like "MetaHub" was not one of the press outlets even invited to test out the new product. Most of the video footage is from actual reviewers that participated in the product reveal. Unsubscribed.
NO. It not wireless. Can only use Sony software. You have to shell out for a PS5, which is still hard to get, and not priced fairly. No. No. No. Not even close. If I am going to spend $1000 or so on a complete setup, I will wait for the new lineup of headsets. I would only consider if it could run SteamVR.
You may want to check out video's from CNET and Virtual Oasis from 2 months ago. At least they actually were invited to the reveal and were able to play the new PSVR2.
