This channel provides informative how-to videos about APA Style, currently in its 7th Edition. APA Style is a popular framework for formatting papers for professionals and students alike, but often people do not receive any education on what is (or is not) APA Style or how to use it properly. My channel bridges that gap by explaining what APA Style requires with thorough demonstrations on how to follow the style guidelines yourself. All videos are timestamped (see video descriptions) to make it easier for you to find the information you need quickly.
Am I the only one confused as to why the first author in the journal reference page has a last name starting with V? is it alphabetical or by the first author cited?
Do I suppose to write an Introduction and Conclusion? Because some people said that in the main body, there must be an introduction and conclusion. Please answer me!
As I am entering my 2nd semester in my Master's program this video is a lifesaver! It is detailed and thorough and I feel like it helped me step my writing game up. Thank you!
Thank for this video. When I was in graduate we used APA and I got a lot of points taken away. Now I'm in my doctoral program I have a better understanding
Why? Who can just remember this stuff? Every time I write a paper, I go over all of this again. What's the point of learning a student version if you will only use the professional version at work? I had a class once that had the option of using Chicago style and it is just so much more intuitive and easier to read. APA is just out of control and needlessly complicated.
Thank You! That's a great instruction :). Anyway I really cannot find the information where should I put acknowledgements (thanks for some organisations) to my professional paper? Should I put it in author note section or just before bibliography?
Thank you for this video. I am 53 years old and doing some courses. I was relying on my kids for help. One day on the last day of submission they refused to help me .I cried a lot and decided i will never ask for help from them. I submittted my assignment late but i did it myself after seeing your videos.
This is great! But how do you get it to type from the center? When I put the author's name, I do hit enter twice and it starts on the left side, not the center
i don't know if my comment will be seen, but i'm struggling with the following: in one paragraph, i discuss multiple studies. if i cite an author in parantheses, and within the same paragraph i add a narrative citation, do i have to repeat the year in the narrative citation, when its clear which study im reffering to (e.g., because i only cite one study by the author in an entire paper?) As far as I understood, if you repeat a narrative citation you don't have to include the year anymore when its clear what im referring to.. i am confused 😅 does that mean, if in my entire paper, when i discussed 2 studies by the same author, that i always have to repeat the year in narrative citations, no matter what?
There are no subtitles (under the title on the title page) in the APA 7 guide. I don't know where you are getting that but it appears to be wrong. With that said I still appreciate the content and help. Still very useful.
It would be great if the video could be upgraded to a minimum of 1080p resolution, and even better if it could reach 4k. The current 720p resolution makes it difficult to watch the video comfortably on modern displays.
