I found your site, as I decided to figure out why my Hunter boots have cracked after approximately two years. I need to decide whether to buy another pair. I too, loved my boots; then the cracks! Aside from the cracks, I suggest you take better care of your boots. Clean them after you have come in from the wet, mud and plain pavement, roadway dirt. I only wore my boots on city pavements -- maybe a park path once or twice.
This is hard to understand. Did you ever use the cleaner and weather them? That could really help. I've not had a problem with mine. I always take care of mine, I use the equipment to clean/polish and everything so I never get cracks.
I have similar cracks in my hunters. The cracks formed at about the four year mark. I"m not hard on boots and I would have expected the rubber to last longer as they weren't exposed to the elements very often.
Stuart England nope definitely a greenfinch as rescued from my garden as a fledgling after being kicked out the nest. Raised by my canary. We have the families every year.
acceptable problems on 30 year old boots , i have 20 year old rubber superga is perfect , probably hunter use a poor rubber , i love a high heeled hunter but i see many hunter on ebay cracked, and i never buy , absolutly crazy price , i prefer a nice vintage PVC boots , the PVC is undestroy if compared to natural rubber .
I had one of those, had it for years and I loved it. One day I was charging it on a small table (I have rabbits, 5 rabbits, and they lurrrve electrical cords!) but I knocked it off and the bloody thing smashed to smithereens 😭 Am off to Argos shortly to treat myself to a shiny new one, the Gtech SW02. It's dearer, but it was about 6 years ago I bought my red one, so happy new sweeper day to me! 😁 Great review by the way! Were those tiny voices little finches that I could hear in the background?
I've got several pair's of these boots and not worn them that much and they have split I got mine from Costco and was happy to take one pair back but they are now rubbish
My boots have a ton of cracks I’ve been wearing them since the end of October it’s now mid March in central Cali the weather isn’t horrible here. I also wear them all day everyday, I am a groomer. Disappointed
This is crazy. So sorry I gave 3 pairs never had a problem. I luckily have got mine on discount from Nordstrom Rack and Sams Club here in the US. This is terrible.
Hi. I have had exactly the same experience with my Hunter wellies which are not quite 2 years old... my husband bought them for me and they are the limited edition ones covered in beautiful flower designs by the RHS. I was so excited about them and whenever I wore them I'd clean them straight away. I walk my dogs for a couple of hours every day but only wore my Hunters in bad weather as I didn't want to wear the heels away. Just last week I had them re-heeled and was so happy at knowing I could keep them in as good a condition as possible. My happiness vanished 2 days ago when I was wearing them whilst walking across a field and felt one of my feet getting wet.... When I examined the boots I found cracks in both of them across the top of the foot where the boot bends when walking. I am really upset about this and feel foolish that I set so much store by the name Hunter and I had such high expectations - especially when they cost £85 in the Winter sales! I've watched a couple of videos where people have used a product called Stormsure to repair their Hunter wellies so I'll give that a go, but I certainly won't be buying any more!!
Balmoral Hunters boots cause me to have painful blisters - Hunters waterproof sneakers are not waterproof, water gets in and again it gives blisters - I am moving on to a different brand!!
They used to be good for at LEAST 3 years but sadly now they are just trading on what was a quality products name, I did hear a rumour that they are now produced in China (not in Scotland as their video implies (that's the one with the comments disabled))
I've had the same trouble... gutted because they are so comfortable but I've now had two pairs (thinking I was unlucky first time round) and they've each perished on the line that creases above my toes as I walk and I now get soaking wet feet 😞 Each pair barely latest a year and I just use them for waking be dog. I've upgraded to a pair of Dublin Riverboots today and am hoping I'll have more luck. I do like the idea of using them as planters... I'm so annoyed I was going to chuck them in disgust into the shoe recycling bin
