as far as the wiring and installation goes when switching to LWB, yes.. same procedure. There's good chance the airbag light will be triggered as well.
@@kevinscarlett5703 that's one way of doing it as it's already been coded and calibrated/setup on the ecu. I believe introducing a new unknown occupancy sensor will mostly likely needs to be recoded and recalibrated. It's not plug n play as many suggest.
I aquired a '14 gt3 a few days ago and according to its maintenance record the engine was having the same issue. The dealer changed coils but the problem still existed so finally they wind up replacing the engine with a g6 series engine. The car has 28k miles and at 24k miles it got the new engine. The engine runs good so far.
Thanks for responding. Considering a '14 GT3 with original engine and 35k miles, this is helpful. Tons of noise on the internet on the E1 engines all being condemned to blow up. I guess that's not always the case. Happy that it worked out well for you sir @@db8gsr
@@mariogutierrez8712 yeah - it looks more like the 2015 model with their F engine made all the fuss. I believe Porsche made changes to the F engine over the E1 and not a carry over to the next model year. I wouldn’t shy away with an E1 👍
Does the grub screw inside the purple adjuster tighten against the hex adjuster on the bottom of the shock? Does the hole go right through the adjuster knob? Thanks
@@db8gsr spoke to kw they said the grub screw just tightens against the inner part of the knob and doesn’t hold it onto the stem on the shock absorber - it’s just held on by the plastic ring
@@kentowers2802 that's correct. In the video, I inserted a plastic ring gasket. That seems to have broken off on mine and the whole knob fell off so i had to order a new knob replacement from KW.
That is one clean car, the undersides are immaculate. Did you keep the brake pedal pressed in whilst undoing the brake lines, I see that some do and some don't.
thanks ! - nothing was pressed on the brake pedal when the lines were disconnected. The motiv power bleeder did its job pushing all the old brake fluid out and air bubbles.
@@db8gsr Its a fantastic car, I will keep mine too, but eventually the E (and F and G0) engine will fail,. Try to get a replacement engine before the engine warranty ends. The G6 Engine is solid and solves the FF issues.
@@Clausewitz12345 I’m already out of the 10yr warranty. If it goes, at least my local Porsche dealer have a history on my car that it came in for a diagnostic service on a misfire. That ended up to be coils and it was also escalated up to Porsche NA. So we’ll see if Porsche will honor it on goodwill. Otherwise, I’ll just have the engine rebuild with a stroker.
Nice ! - congrats in picking one up. Are the prices the same in Australia with the current exchange rate? I have no issues with the car so far and just been driving it on occasion except for a bad alignment. Took it in for service and they aligned it perfectly. Steering wheel is now straight and doesn't pull to the right. Alignment was way off when it rolled off from the factory. I think they forgot to align the car. 😟 Also quite surprise how the handling is actually pretty good.
Great video, thanks for showing us your experience. How do you find the climate control being that the roof too is mostly glass although it block UV rays does the climate control keep the cabin cool enough?
Yes - i noticed that too now that i have it for a month. It does get hot inside the cabin on sunny days. I turn off climate control most of the time because of battery usage. I got the car fully tinted as well. Good thing though is it's quick to cool off the cabin once you get the AC running.
@@db8gsr good to know the climate control can keep up. NJ gets brutal during the summer. Have you or will you be installing a home charger? I’m still doing my homework on whether to get into the LR3 after my 330i lease is up in Dec.
@@envieddesigns Yes - had the Tesla wall connector installed. I opted this over the NEMA 14-50 to optimize the charging amp. Get any model 3 variant that suits your daily needs. The standard 3 I picked is more than enough.
@@db8gsr yes, I’m opting for the LR 3, grey with black interior and black wheels an that’s all. Looking to lease it for 2 yrs since it’s cheaper vs replacing my bmw lease with a newer model because their numbers are high right now. I saw you had some other nice toys in the garage. How does it feel when you drive your non EV. Do you get too used to the one pedal driving where it’s like oh shoot I need to hit the breaks? lol. I’m going for one more test drive. I checked with my electricity provider on their discounts for the off peak charging. Would be cheaper not paying for gas and insurance will be cheaper too.
@@envieddesigns You will like the LR3. Having the gray color at no cost is a big plus. It looks so much better than the other plain colors. A month ago, the Perf3 wasn't even eligible for the Federal incentive as it was over 55k. Now you can get it for just over 50k. I think all Model 3 variants are excellent deals right now. Also the cost to charge is a lot less than gas is huge. With insurance, i was actually shocked that the Model 3 actually cost $20 more to insure over my BMW M2cs which essentially cost over twice its price. I don't know why this is but it's probably due to the gigacasting body frame. and thank you for taking notice on other cars in the garage. I'm an auto enthusiast and been a hobby of mine for many years, doing DIY on weekends and going to tracks on occasion. The sensitivity of the model 3 during acceleration and regenerative braking is the biggest difference. I try to rotate driving them as much as possible depending which mood i'm in. lol 😀
Love the Umlauts! So much easier to spell than pronounce correctly! Or is it Ümläüts? (I know it isn't!!!) PS And the show was fun too. Arrived a bit later than planned on Sunday for Air/Water (Luft/Wasser) and was a little disappointed that many cars had already left with their owners. Oh well.
Essentially it is quieter due to the engines being further away. I was able to close shut for about 5hrs comfortably on a 11hr flight. It’s rare for me to catch some sleep for that long on long haul flights
