I used to pick up a guy in Gravesend on way to work . I saw a huge puddle outside this house and a "city gent" emerging to walk to the station for his train. It was too good to miss. I sped up and got him as he was closing his gate. That was about 40 years ago. The memory of it still makes me laugh. I think the man took the day off. If only we had Dash Cams in those days.
I graduated high school some time ago now, but the way my graduation went down, I will never forget. I remember my cap not being secured to my head and subject to flying off at any point because of the wind. The fact that the cap stayed on when I walked to the stage is a miracle. Right when my row had to stand up, it flew off my head a second time. I tried to pick it up, but this caused all of my medals and accessories to fall off. EVERYONE around me noticed. I don't know if anyone in the bleachers did. I was a white gown (which were only reserved for the top ten percent of the class) in the second frontmost row as well.
