I bought one in 2012. I have never had one issue with mine; I have heard a few stories of others who have had issues similar to the one described in this video. Would I trust this shotgun? Mine? Yes, I have not had any problems with mine. Not sure as to why there was this lack of quality control when Remington normally puts out a good product.

Why didn't you show how to install the bar studs? Another video from someone else shows him thread lock the studs and install before putting the halves together. Both ways seem wrong because if he locked the studs in how did he get them back out to put the other stuff on? You skipped the stud install. My problem is I saw the new England saws video install the studs with the long end and flat shoulder to the holes for the studs. That seems wrong because they have a tapered shoulder that looks like it makes to a tapered recess for the stud holes. Can someone please clarify when they should be installed and which end of the stud goes in first? The short end with the tapered shoulder should go in first to mate to the tapered recess correct? The manual doesn't specify or show how it's supposed to be done. Only torque spec and just says install it. Just looking at it tells me the taper shoulder should mate with the tapered recess...

Thanks for the help in understanding how the IH Cub cultivating system works. I’ve used Allis Chalmers G tractors for years, but was always curious how the other side does it. BTW - Observation from a farmer: When I saw that you were wearing sandals while messing with steel and cast-iron it made my toes curl! There’s a reason God created steel-toed boots!

Put the crankshaft in the freezer for 1 day. Heat the crank bearings with a hair dryer or heating gun for couple minutes. Take crank out of freezer quickly dap little WD-40 on it and slip both ends in with ease. Tighten bolts. Walla NO TOOL NEEDED! Works every time. Thank you, I am here all day :)

First you have to break the gun in after about 5 to 6 boxes of 3.5in loads they do have a have a recall on them it's because the firing pin doesn't retract so when you put one in the chamber it fires I've had mine for a long time and I've had none of those problems with it either so but break the gun in first and then then then then then then see what it does
@shrunkenskulloutdoors
@shrunkenskulloutdoors 8 месяцев назад
Was not a break in issue. It had a bad trigger group that prevented it from cycling after the shot was fired. That is what the recall was also for on these guns and as to why Remington discontinued them. They keep an amount of trigger groups on stock for the ones that were not sold yet but figured would have the problem based on numbers built and how many had been serviced and how many yet were unsold.

I just finished putting my saw together with the help and aid of your videos!! I do appreciate the videos for sure!! But if you are going to do another one, try to include more close-up shots of the parts and how they go in. I am not by any stretch of the imagination a mechanic!! So having those shots would have saved me from pulling parts off and trying to zoom in around your hat! Lol. There were some things you did off-camer that you did not explain you just said you did them, but all in all it was helpful for the step-by-step direction. For a person who has never done a saw build before it was a challenge to follow along.

I just picked up a used one a couple weeks ago. 2 boxes of shells thru it so far, zero issues. Per the serial #, mine was built in March 2010. I'm guessing some older fella had it in his safe, passed away, and his family put it on consignment at my LGS. From my reading, the problem 887's didn't really start until 2014, and the subsequent recall on this model for the sticking firing pin. (And, Remington's pre bankruptcy rampant QC issues) Whole I've read many horror stories about the 887, I'm glad mine is a keeper.

@@shrunkenskulloutdoors I have a Poulan Pro I purchased in 2013. I've never used gasoline with ethanol (recommended), always used Amsoil Sabre Pro 2 cycle oil. What happens is there is a seal that goes bad that makes it run bad. First thing everyone does is chase down a phantom carb issue. Well, if you leave fuel (ethanol) fuel in the system it hardens the lines and diaphragms. Regardless those seals WILL fail.
@CuriousKL
@CuriousKL 11 месяцев назад
@@shrunkenskulloutdoors There's a big difference between maintenance and repairs. When using outdoor equipment, especially 2 cycle, it is imperative to NOT use gas with ethanol. If that is done on a chain saw foe example, it eliminates any and all issues with fuel related issues. But these Poulan Pro's and Wild Things saw are junk. I was just at a shop the other day. He showed me exactly why these Poulan saws fail. He's worked on hundred of these things. Husqvarna has known for years why these saw fail to run correctly. They do not care. So instead of making people think they can fix junk, just be honest. Tell them it is better to buy a different brand than put more money into a piece of equipment that will run poorly. Better off buying a cordless.
