I've been listening to this song for weeks and never even slightly considered that it was supposed to be specifically geared towards gay people until this comment section slapped me in the face with it lol. Thought it was just a very nice love song. And before someone goes off about me being homophobic or something for not getting the context of a song, I'm bi. I just didn't know that was the intention of the song.
This reminds me of me and my fiance, as we're both girls and the world's got problems with that. I jokingly said to her yesterday "if the bible thumpers are right and this is a sin then God condemn me now because I have no interest in redemption if it means not ever kissing your lips again or getting lost in your eyes." and she just responded with "Oh I think that we both know we are far from being saints, when I look at you I know that the world sees sin in your eyes, but I don't care... because now, right now, you are all I care about, and you are the best sin that I have ever committed..."
I always felt like I was on the outside looking in, never quite fitting in with the crowd. But when I heard this song by Angels & Airwaves, it spoke to me in a way no other song had before. It made me feel like I belonged and that everything was going to be okay. With UnMixIt, I could take this beautiful song and make my own karaoke version of it. Being raised in a very sex-negative Christian household sure leaves you with a lot of baggage to sort through when you grow up. So beautiful to realize that one's feelings are natural and healthy, even positive, rather than sinful and degenerate.

I can't help but think of Good Omens when I hear this song; I think I first heard it on a Good Omens AMV, and it really fits Aziraphale and Crowley's relationship, with how Heaven and Hell tried to keep them apart, but they sill loved each other regardless, and, at the Attempted Armageddon, they stood together against the Devil himself and their Heavenly/Hellish former bosses, for the sake for their love for each other, their love for humanity, and their love for the earth they live on
I have a different take on this song. I feel like she's expressing that she wants to follow her dreams but the world disapproves and says she's in the wrong. Either way, this is a great song
