In slow chess that would be illegal (due to the "touch-move" rule). In blitz, they often use a "clock-move" rule, meaning, your move is not final and you can do what you wish with the pieces and it's not final until you punch your clock.
Worth noting that the Voyager spacecraft do include a greeting in Esperanto: "Ni strebas vivi en paco kun la popoloj de la tuta mondo, de la tuta kosmo" (We strive to live in peace with the peoples of the whole world, of the whole cosmos). Most books and websites are unaware of this - but for verification just listen to the golden record, and there it is!

I think it's future is for people wanting to learn a European language or linguists. I am using Esperanto as preparation to learn Spanish and French. It should be taught in schools as a method of how to learn a language. The methods of learning languages should be Esperanto's mission. Learning aids such as SRS flashcards and graphics should be developed and freely available.
A great work! I really liked this film, the Esperanto is the way for have a world without difference. Bonega laboro! Mi vere sxatis cxi tiu filmo, la Esperanto estas la maniero por havi mondo sen diferencojn.
It's such a pity that so many people still have misconceptions about Esperanto, like many of those interviewed on the street in this film. It's not true that nobody speaks Esperanto as a native language - and here's the proof: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UzDS2WyemBI.html. Dear constructed language fans, I have some news for you - we are currently working on powerful and versatile software called SolReSol: The Project. Its aim is to make the world aware of SolReSol - one of the most beautiful constructed languages that can be expressed using colors, notes and numbers. Bright visuals and professionally recorded musical instruments included. Please take a look at our Indiegogo campaign to find out more and see the demo of the engine: igg.me/at/solresol
I think that the most practical use of Esperanto lies in its value as a stepping stone into learning a foreign language. To a native English speaker who has never tried to learn a new language, the concept of verb conjugation and other grammatical rules prevalent in Latin-based languages may seem strange. The rules of Esperanto are fewer and more free than in these languages, allowing it be a great introductory tool.
As a Spanish teacher I'm not sure I would agree with that. I think learning a real language from the get go would be just as useful as Esperanto in that regard. Plus it would prepare you for the more complex grammar of many other European languages. I am a beginning Esperanto learner, but I can't really say why I learn it besides my innate joy for language.
