@@BaqPaqJaq We are aiming for 1st week in October for Spain and will be doing Shauns trip to the crystal Geode cave in Almeria. Right now we are concentrating on getting ready for our trip to Borneo in July. So looking forward to it. We had originally booked to go May 2020. We hope to see Orangutans in the wild. We will be trekking in jungles, taking boat trips down crocodile infested mangroves in search of irrawaddy dolphins and visiting magical caves inhabited by swiftlets and bats. We may be lucky and see probiscus monkeys (big noses and pot bellies), bearded pigs and lots of brightly coloured tropical birds. The wildlife I am not looking forward to encountering is leeches and mozzies!
Thank you Steve. We love going there when we are over as it is so beautiful and peaceful there. We have also taken a number of boat trips from there (dolphin and sea bird watching and sightseeing)
Just a few weeks to go and that will be the area around our new home. Thanks for sharing all the videos I have been watching recently. I understand that you are close to the "Lone Gardener". Is that the chap in the photographs? Either way, please pass on our thanks and admiration for his work if you can, that will be a frequent walk for our little dog being very close to the villa - as always, taking little bags of course to clear up behind us. 👍
I am glad you enjoy the videos. I am not close to the Lone Gardener. I have seen him working in that garden once or twice but agree that garden is lovely. There are so many lovely walks around the Campo surrounding D sector that I think you and your dog are going to enjoy exploring it all. We don't have a dog but meet many friendly dog walkers on our early morning or evening walks. There is a bench on a hill where a number of dog walkers meet at sunset beyond D38. The bench is a memorial to Spotty Dog who loved his walkies on that part of the Campo. The chap in the photographs is my Husband Andy.😄
@@fionakillick6743 Ah, I had thought perhaps Andy could be one and the same - husband and Lone Gardener. What a lovely memorial to Spotty Dog, we'll keep our eyes open. We are very much looking forward to being there. We will be living on D9, so just a little walk up the hill past one house to the perimeter road. If you see an awful looking white bloke and a beautiful brown woman walking a long haired chihuahua (Milo) on your travels, please introduce yourselves. Neither Milo nor us two bite. 😁 Unfortunately the breed means that he can't go for really long walks, so sometimes we may be on our own. 👍
@@kevtheargonut We have a holiday home on D35 up the other end of D sector. (a 10 minute walk from the spotty dog bench) There are some great walks around the D9 end and keep an eye out for Eagles.
@@fionakillick6743 Yes indeed, the bird life can be interesting but Chihuahua threatening on occasions. I had one bird of prey, probably a red kite clatter into the patio door here in Surrey when Milo was sitting inside close to it. When we lived in Port Solent they re-introduced Sea Eagles on the Isle of Wight - right next to a sheep farm. Amazing birds but they lost a lot of lambs that year. We looked at a nice property on D28 not too far from you while we were over. There are some very nice views from that area. But although I had told the missus before we left that my mind was totally open till I saw the actual buildings, she ended up choosing my favourite from the listings shortlist when she saw it, so it all ended well. Because of the visa process holding our passports for the entire duration, we have split our applications to different times. I'll come down on a 90/180 first until her visa is done to get the place up and running and then she will come down. We'll spend a little time together and then I'll go back to do my visa and stay in the UK till that is done. I'd estimate it'll be April at least before all that is complete and we can be together full-time at the villa. Frustrating and expensive, but that is what we have to do. It'll be worth it I am sure.
@@kevtheargonut Hope it all goes well. We have a house up the other end of D. The Lone Gardener garden and walk is lovely. There are so many lovely walks to do from and around D sector. You will not be to far away from the out door gym.
@@fionakillick6743 Thank you Fiona. Yes, not that far, but much closer to the church actually. But I will be bringing my own gym anyway. I am too embarrassed to go public as I disappear into a puddle of sweat. 😁
A nice wildlife video ...the stone circle is probably built by the lady who lives / wild camps in the woods ....i have been sat quietly before sunrise to photograph the birds and she has turned up near me and started meditating with very little clothing on ...makes it extremely awkward for me 🤔
Thank you Steve. We noticed a caravan in the woods and that makes sense. Glad we were a little later than sunrise as that could be a little awkward when you are there with a camera with a long range. We have come across naked people in the hot springs when they had water in them so yes strange things do happen in those woods sometimes!

Thank you Steve. Yes we love going for a walk along the Rambla as we always see something different there and it is amazing that even if the beach is really busy the minute you turn into the rambla it is so tranquil and so many birds

Thank you Shaun. For the last beach there are only two ways you can get there - walk from the Guns or by boat. We kayaked there but there are boat trips you can do from Mazarron to this cove.

Thumbs up ere' Fiona, that very first beach is the first beach I visited when looking for our new home and I was walking Bonnie along the beach at sunrise and said This is the place where I want to live. The images in the videos are lovely and deserve a little more than the couple of seconds, particularly those with a text overlay. It would be great to have some location info for some of the view points. Please don't think I'm all about being critical, you do produce some good videos, I'm just forever clicking pause.
