man, I just hope they don't sh!t all over Jin's legacy with some bullshit girlboss phrase or a constant reminder of how she would do things better than the "old ghost"...
I get what you're saying about giving Sucker Punch the benefit of the doubt, but it's still very worrying. Of all the voice actresses one could hire, I don't think you can get the most unhinged far left activist by sheer coincidence. You have to go out of your way to find someone like her.
For me it is simple. I refuse to buy tickets for a movie filled with activist actors, creators, producers. Even if the product is otherwise ideology free - which is never. For games it is the same. I will not support a game company who goes out of their way to hire the most obnoxious activist to play the main role in their game. Who is going to be more successful and more influential as a consequence. They could have hired anyone to play this role. So if they want this kind of person to represent their game fine, it is their product. So since I am no longer the target audience, clearly it was not made for me, I won't buy it. Hopefully their modern audience will be enough for them to stay in business.
I kinda find it funny that Erika removed all her recent roles she was excited about from her bio and left only "Ghost of yotei" in there. No more "Rook dragon age, sektor mortal kombat" just ghost. Like these other roles are now embarrassing by comparison lol. 😅
I think it's fair to give the benefit of the doubt(even though we've seen this a million times by now). It also helps the MC is not hard to look at, specially if she's into hot springs. About the "typecasting" thing it's pretty stupid. I can do a good spongebob impression and I'm not a sponge(spoilers). They should pick based on the VA range.
What a bullshit take. He is not calling all critics tourists, he is calling people who think the game is “woke” whatever that means tourist. The game is no more “woke” than BG3 and that game did excellently. So yeah, Gaider is not wrong here. The people who just throw the word “woke” around anything that they don’t like are the problem.
To be fair; Dragon Age's character creator was always shit to begin with. BUT, if they can add surgery "scars", they should be able to add everything else, including bigger bust.
Inq was the gate to woke, all of the characters were soft as fuck and the decisions were nonsense just leading into trying to get you to pull a millenial puck up line. Also origins and 2 were just dark and had great atmosphere, if this is the new DA then i am totally a tourist.
Tourist? I played Dragon Age Origins, and Mass Effect the seasons they came out. I have 400 Mass Effect videos on my RU-vid site. I still play it to this day. I'll play a remastered or temade DA Origins before this trash.
I’m not a tourist, I’m a former resident. BioWare’s quality had been going down for year by the time inquisition came out and that was my last straw with them.
Hearing all this im wondering if Dragon Age "Dreadwolf" ever had a chance.... Man i really hope that this is the last sacrifice we have to live through before this toxic inclusivity finally gets the boot.
Well, he is working on something very woke atm with lot of pansexual protagonists. Maybe he is just scared! Or maybe he was promised a bonus if the Daveth (Dragon Age: The Veilguard sold well) and he is being sour!
lmao you use "gay" as an insult and just attack him without any argument. He is right though, and all the culture warriors and the grifters are indeed tourists and not really dragon age fans. Anthem's failure had nothing to do with Gaider, and i doubt youve played it, youre just trying to discredit him because he's not on your side lol. Bro literally reading article from a grifter propaganda side while trying to make culture war content to gain clicks and relevancy, do you have any integrity ?
If he's going to call me a tourist; I've played Dragon Age Origins thoroughly enough that even with the DLC when it first came out on 360 - I had only ONE achievement that I never got. I've seen every ending. Played every type of character. I did the same for DA2 - I know those two games like the back of my hand. I played Dragon Age Inquisition, to several types of characters (though I'm not nearly as fond of it as the original) I still own all three games. Gaider meanwhile is a lead writer. He may well be one of the reason I've never found a way to make Teagan the fucking arl of Redcliffe - because there's NO way not to save Aemon. Even if you kill Connor, or Isolde - and there's NO way to kill them both. There's very little chance anyone's even seen the ending during the redcliffe seige where there are no casualties. I think I've done it maybe twice. He might be the reason even though the Grey Wardens are supposed to be politically neutral and focused SOLELY on the Darkspawn (when they were actually a threart - and no I don't know why Hawke who ISN'T a Grey Warden never has to deal with the taint; but their sister/brother dies automatically if you bring them along on the incursion but don't bring Anders - or why they fucked Anders' Character over so hard in that game. He wasn't great in Awakenings with the leanings he had, and they could've gone the smart way and let his time with the Wardens TEMPER him, so that he wasn't massively retarded at the end of the game) you end up being everyone's bleeding bitch as an errand boy = to get them to WANT to save their own asses from a nigh endless plague of fucking locusts. For all I know he could be the reason that Anora never even has a kid (which is part of her royal RESPONSIBILITY - and the mark of an actually savvy queen by the way, since she's NOT immortal) with the Hero of Fereldan. If you can't even uncross your legs for a guy you actually like/respect who has legitimately saved the world, nevermind your throne, and insist on fighting over who actually wears the bloody pants; how high is your bar lady??? Instead they're PROUD of that point, and call it strength. The Tudor line effectively died out as a royal dynasty because that queen ALSO chose never to marry or produce an heir... just saying. The idea that Solas was the Dread Wolf (I don't like it, but at least they had a stinger ending that was BUILDING up to making him a CREDIBLE antagonist - or anti hero that we mistake for the antagonist) and Flemeth was Mythal was always STUPID as balls and Flemeth returning at all was also not well done. I don't care who voiced her. We killed her; she wasn't stated to actually be immortal definitively, and though I can appreciate a certain creativity in the loop hole, it IS a loop hole that still doesn't prove she's "immortal." The thirty year death sentence was also retarded; because you're stated to be IMMUNE to the effects of the taint. So while I understand Mithridism has its consequences, the DLC adds magic powers that are actively punitive but stated to "unlock" the "potential" of the rite... which could have been the way the writers just said fuck it. HoF DOESN'T have to die in 3 decades just because Nhilism. There's also a final point that Khrem lives in a world with actual magic; and a specialization introduced in the first game, which Morrigan herself outright admits CAN work in the vein of changing a human into a human (never specifically mentions it can't be a different gender) but she gets nothing out of it, because of the reason for which she actively uses the power. Which is mostly a new perspective/recon based. There's the fact that Celine from Orlais was slated to be married to Cailan to end the strife between their continents. It actively could have been stated that in those negotiations; Cailan had already IMPREGNATED Celine/Secretly married her in Orlais, so he DID have a blood legacy to pass the crown to - which would have put her into a legitimate position of power as the regent for a rightful heir. Alistar didn't need to be the only option. Nor did you assholes actually need to introduce a former female elven lover, just to fuck up EVERYTHING implied in Return to Ostagar and put Loghain's actions squarely back to sour asshole, who could've/should've saved Cailan in the first place. Where that DLC and it's insinuation actually gave him a more sympathetic reasoning for what he did. It would've been fine to confirm that Anora was in fact the problem. It doesn't take anything away from her character as a ruler - except the option to legitimately continue the legacy; and would have made it possible without a very specific set of circumstances in game, to actually be Alistar's mistress. So that the Therin line doesn't just die out. : / But what do I know... I'm a Tourist.
Did he ever work in a position were he was personally responsible for a product and had to face the customer's representive and his own superiors, when said product hugely disappoints?
My crackpot theory is that David Gaider became a "George R. R. Martin". EA was never getting a finished script so they fired David Gaider, EA is letting "Dragon Age: The Veilguard" become a laughing stock on purpose. it's still David Gaides legacy, so let the woke kids burn it to the ground. So EA can reboot Dragon Age and cater to the demographic who actually buy games.
BioWare, please continue to insult your fans right before a controversial game release! This has never been tried before with disastrous results, trust us!
He fucked up big time. He was part of the old guard and people really held him in high regard, myself included. Now, not so much and I'm begining to think they left not because of creative differences but simply due to some mondain reasons, like boredom. Didn't know he was gay though, I gues he is Gayder then.
