This is probably the best comprehensive post-OG comic summary I've seen on RU-vid!! Please consider doing a similar video for future Homestuck beyond canon updates!!!
i could be wrong bc i never went on the forums, but i think a few of the fan adventures from there were put onto mspfa? most of them are missing images (such as the felt adventure) but it seems that people are still making efforts to find panels for a few of them. i could be very wrong about this tho…
i like how at no point during the catholic vriska part did you mention the fact that that is a not-so-inadequate descriptor of aranea, given that she wears a sufferer necklace
Man I know I will never enjoy anything epilogue /beyond canon content, however this is a good video and I do love the adult sprites you made for the players and trolls.
I'm surprised that the "Star Heart Horseshoe" gag from Problemsleuth wasn't explained in your not tangent. It would go along way to explain how carpations seem to understand some Leprechaun romance since they ostensibly came from the same source.
what??? WHAT?????? No academic character analysis on what leprechauns exhibit which charms to which character???? not even an attempt to extrapolate information from the established dynamics between leprechauns to find a semblance of insight as to what each charm means?????? frankly my good homestuck, i am walking away from this documentary underwhelmed and DISAPPOINTED. i shall NOT be sharing this with my fellow MSPA scholars come next thursday's brunch. GOOD DAY TO YOU.
OMG, it's not "insensitive" to reference a culture. You go on about influences for the names of the felt like it's no big deal, but then because "Juju" has similar origins, it's suddenly "insensitive."
You're right! It isn't insensitive to reference a culture. What IS insensitive is taking a word that has a specific and important meaning to a religion and then blindly applying your own definition to it.
I'm sure others have pointed this out, but I was happy to hear "...that comes about at the end of the world" as opposed to the far more common "...that ends the world" in the intro. It doesn't make much of a difference to someone asking what Homestuck is as an outsider, sure, but only because answering "What is Homestuck?" with a blurb about the plot tells them almost nothing actually useful ABOUT what Homestuck is anyways. If you're going to summarize the plot before getting to the good stuff, it should at least be a summary that is accurate, albeit without totally spoiling the plot twist about the end of the world scenario they begin* the story in.
hiii, i want to include a weird addendum to one of the entries since i cannot let this go since its actually referencing ,y favorite anime >_< 48:27, sugoi quest for kokoro is more of a reference to Nyan Neko Sugar Girls!! as in a lot of it is direct references xD its literally my favorite thing ever aND available on youtube !! plzz check it out (by soapopera46!!) its literally such a classic and honestly awesome :3thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like the song and think it fits in with Homestucks more goofier music and I think it's really cool also people say beyond canon and epilogues are bad but tbh I'm pretty excited for both specifically beyond canon I really like the art and I want to know what's happened after Homestuck y'know?
hi hs team and others, ive read og homestuck and the epilogues. also other spinoff stuff. but ive yet to touch hs2. i know theres been some harsh criticism over it, but i am looking forward to its completion. thank you for all your hard work and stay positive? have a good day everyone.
great video, though something else interesting to note about crowbar is the implication that he does have a time-based power: he can remember different timelines. in inaugural death of mister seven crowbar goes on a lot about how it's his job to "remember" and, more specifically, says he remembers the first time he was offed "like it was yesterday". if the comic got continued i feel like we would have gotten more elaboration on this but as it stands it seems crowbar's able to remember things he'd only be able to remember through timeline shenanigans, i.e., his death he also says he remembers his first kiss so presumably we would have also seen that in a hypothetical pt 2. we are truly living in the worst timeline
@@CalsCalzones highly recommend that you do- it's hands down the best paradox space comic imo and the only bad part about it is that you will be met with deep uncurable sadness at the realization that its never ever getting continued
Extra for the homestuck referenced in different shows: it was actually referenced on bluey a few times. From what I remember, an episode where the main characters went shopping contained the words “prospit” written on one of the banners put up on the products (hopefully I am describing this correctly,,)
