Did you run all of your wires to the 3 connectors under the dash? Does that keep me from having to run the red and the black all the way to the battery? I have a max and the wires are too short..
Same boat here, I didn’t want to pay for a 1000. I did get the XT . I put 30’s from a maverick on mine, no noticeable difference. Maybe on top end but I don’t drive fast anyway.
I started buying sxs in 08. I got a new RZR every couple years until 2016 and my last one was a 1000 xp. Although I took a break and this 2023 canam commander 700 is the first unit I've bought since the rzr 1000, I have to say this little 700 is by far my favorite sxs I've ever owned. I believe it to be the best trail machine made, because it does everything well. The realistic truth is "unless you're a desert racer" the 700 is plenty. I've never once wished I had more power or speed. The one and only complaint I have is the low range is "to me" a little too low geared even with 30s. I hope it's reliable because for the first time ever, I didn't buy extended warranty, but I couldn't find anything online that suggested anything other than it being a jam up good dependable machine.
When you get the clunk sound, just remember it's the front sway bar link! Mine came lose at 15 hours and some other commander owners have had this issue. Other than that I like mine!
When I hooked my winch up on my 2023 to the ac power and ground under the dash it interfered with my DPS system and caused to the shutter when using the winch and messed up the calibration. I had to have everything reset at can am and ended going to the battery
Like your videos. Because of them I bought one. 700dps. I put a roof, wintch bumpers on. I am wonderoing if you changed your headlights to led and if so what you bought?
Why is everybody so obsessed with "top speed?" These vehicles are not designed nor meant for drag racing. Just enjoy the ride. I guess, to each his own.😏
Because if it can do 65 top speed then it can do 40 safely and over a longer haul. If it can only do 40 top speed then it may not be a good choice if ya need to buzz down a highway for a few miles.
When you drilled out the fairlead to fit the stock bumper drill holes, did you just widen both of the existing holes in the fairlead? Or did you drill a new hole?
@@Ericanddawn-fz5rr Thank you very much! I appreciate the video, I found it very helpful, not many 2022 Commander videos out there. Have you used the winch yet?
I have the 2022 Commander XT 1000 Max 4 Door it is a beast, and I have been using it on the trails I have been running it on over in Pike County, KY. It is rated at 100 HP with a top speed of 84 miles per hour..
Big dogs don't fit in the back. You have too build a floor mount to give big dogs more room in the front seat. And pad the seat, your dogs claws will dig up your seats!! I have a 120 lb. mastive that loves to ride. You should have a dog harness too. You do Not want your dog on your lap during a ride.
How is the commander doing now, how well does it perform, I ordered one yesterday and I need to know if I'm making a mistake on buying it and one more question why are you the only one that has a video out on this petucilar
I've only seen you take this machine out once! Still you hold my interest for 20 min. because you give good tips for owners. I ordered a 22 Max XTP and I can't wait to get it in the shop and mess with is and add stuff to it!!! Thanks
The base mode looks like a great unit! The 700 XT is about 1600 dollars more but has several additional features like the winch, roof, bigger tires and aluminum rims. Debating holding out for an XT or just getting the DPS, as they seem to be more available. I bought a lesser bike once and regretted it within a month, and then lost a huge sum to trade up, for what I initially thought that I couldn't afford. I don't want to be in that situation again, so I am asking more questions this time. Your thoughts? If you could have bought the XT, would you have?
I kinda enjoy customizing my machines, if they would have had an XT there not sure what I would have done. The XT is a great value. I spent $450 on XT wheels and tires (great deal), $160 on a winch (on sale), $230 for the bumper (another great deal), $300 for the roof, so it's a little cheaper than the XT, but the XT has better paint, bigger guage screen and blue or black color options. I didn't want to wait and had a payment in mind, plus I had the funds to upgrade. So many people get the XT, then get new tires and wheels, so it's not as good a deal. If you're going to keep stock wheels, go with the XT, if you're going to upgrade, DPS is a good option.
Did you go full throttle much during break in? I noticed a big difference in how the machine felt after the first 40 miles after that i think you are pretty safe. Im still waiting until the 200 mark to really send it.
Also i just looked up the price of a new belt for a spare because this is my first belt driven machine also and its alot cheaper then for a vtwin model, only $50. I figured theres already a cubby for it so may as well put it to use for that little amount of money.
@@Ericanddawn-fz5rr yeah anything to help get airflow in , i have a half windshield for my 2021 also , but i worried about taking out the self tapping screws for the brackets, afraind they might not go back in
@@Ericanddawn-fz5rr i just know with my 2021 it gets kinda warm in the cab on a hot day with the full windshield( moving the motor to the does not completly eliminate the heating issue commander are know for :)) but its still an amazing machine , i recommend if u find urself bottoming out on trails to raise the suspension one click and that will help , im eventually gonna put 30s on my machine
