It does start small, if more people were good, kind, looked after themselves and were responsible, it has a trickle down effect into every aspect of your life. That's why being a Christian is so important, God teaches us to be good moral citizens and to love one another and that is a great foundation for any society.
I would also like to add. That for every non parental adult that a child lives with. The child's likelihood that they will be abused in any way, is increased by 33%. So if they live with a stepparent, there is a 33% chance the child will be abused. If a child lives with an aunt and step parent at the same time, their likelihood of being abused is 66%. Add in another adult family member and the likelihood is 100% that the child will be abused. Fyi
It's true. If children are not yours, you can't love them in the way you love your biological children. I have lived this both as a step child and step parent. It's different. I was never mean to my step kids. Bc I'm not cruel like that. My step parents were very mean to me. Treated me differently than their own kids. Horrible experience.

It's tough to let go of someone you care about. I can relate, my 12year relationship also ended, and I struggled to move on. I tried everything to get him back, even seeking help from a spiritual counselor who ultimately helped me reconnect with him.
This was exactly the thought I had the day I decided to leave, I was in a very one sided relationship with a very self centred man for 10 years, I tried and tried and tried communicating with him about it but nothing ever changed, I was miserable, I was sitting there one day in tears and I thought to myself, this is it, this is all my life is ever going to be and its never going to get better, do I really want to be this unhappy for the rest of my life?? The answer was no, I ended up leaving and I got my old self and my old life back and I'm the happiest I've been in a long time
