Hi have you changed the pick-ups in your PRS, there is great depth/clarity to them, and possibly the hollow body is adding something also. I'm looking to possibly update a Tokai Les Paul .
As Steve Jones put it 'strum the chords like your giving a kick in the bollix' guigsy & bonehead were the wall of sound to Oasis, kept it very simple but solid and no ego in trying to stand out. hence why it worked 👌
Thank you for mentioning that change into another key sounds natural if the initial chord is included in the former key, I never thought about it that way. And the placement of the title at the end is one my favourite parts of the song, I recently liked the same thing in Eminem's 'Houdini'. Great video! I have a really similar guitar, too! (Aria)
Hi Robert. My guitar is going straight into my Yamaha THR5 amp. I can't remember the specific settings but it sounds like it was a crunch kind of sound with some reverb. Maybe a touch of chorus but not sure!
BH also played fifth chords but with the top 2 strings also played (ie. he muted the D string during, say, the Supersonic verses, whilst playing bar chords)

Smells Like Teen Spirit starts with an upstroke … that being said, it’s very difficult to play the strumming pattern like Kurt played it, but if you want to be accurate you should be strumming on the up so it’s UP DOWN UP not DOWN UP DOWN (i know this sounds like I’m explaining the cheat code to a SNES video game 😜)
All credit for Bonehead. It was kind of a silver lining when he left because Noel doesn’t consider himself a lead guitarist. With Gem, he was able to take the passenger seat a little and let him do those parts.
Mate, a great big thanks for making this tutorial so easy to follow! I have been trying to play this song for ages...and I could not find the intro on any of the tutorials and also the strumming pattern was no where near as well explained as yours! I had the official tab sheet music of this in the 90s and that just showed the bottom E string dropped to D, D chord played as a 3-note (standard A chord shape) and the G chord was an EM7 three note shape (sort of like a standard D5/Dsus2 shape with the extra note above) on the 7th fret.
I never truly appreciated Bonehead till he started regularly playing with Liam again and oh my gosh that sounds like Oasis! I wonder what a lineup where Noel goes solo and Gem replaces him but Bonehead stays would have been like...
also want to make sure all your strings are correct i have had 2 B strings instead of a B and high E, and had all sort of frustration with the E string always having high action and very difficult to bend. wrong string is not fixable without changing to correction string to match your setup but funny the reast of my string stayed in tune quite well considering totally wrong string there ha.
Yes, this does happen. I once bought a packet of strings which was actually missing the high E. I emailed Elixir who sent out a high E string which arrived in a couple of days haha
